If you are a Panther O/O team pulling a DOD load look at your GBL. It shows the rate the gov is paying fpr the load and way down in the paper work it shows the fuel. If you are not getting all the fuel and at least 75% of the charges you are getting screwed. That number is not just an estimate. That is what it pays and do not let Panther cheat you.

Panther pays good per mile but you only get 1000-1500 miles per week avg. I know i've been with them 15 months as solo in a semi. You can't make a living with panther...... BUT IF YOU LIKE SITTING AT TRUCKSTOPS 4-5 DAYS A WEEK IT MIGHT BE THE COMPANY FOR YOU.

Solo Drivers are almost SOL with panther they have alot of Team loads. Hazmat DOD Team will make alsome money and far as the pay in 15 days of reciet of paper work well they plainly state that all paper work recieved by mid night sunday will prosses not before. I have my team and we get loads so no problem. My wife reads these post more than I do but I feel everyone deserves to be heard but relize most people here are here to #####. There are always torns in a rose bush but we still love the rose. After years of dealing with companys whom care for nothing but the bootom line. Fase facts any company is in the business to make money and as much as possible so keep that in mind and you will not never be disaponted is the resuts.:biggrin_25525:

    u can do the math, $1.35 @ mile x 2000 = $2700. fsc = .20 x 2000 = $400, = $3100 - $900 (lease) = $2200 - $700 (fuel) = $1500 - $150(weekly deductions) = $1350. this is all a estimate, if he gets $1.20 @ mile or more then 10 mpg it will change or his lease is different. but, i can say that no solo driver gets 2000 miles every week unless he is paying the dispatcher. :biggrin_25513:

Okay, so here is the final scoop on Panther. I had to fight, claw, and scratch to get paid most of what I was owed on the way out the door.

My end at Panther was abrupt. About 9 months ago I was crossing the outer bridge heading east onto Staten Island. This is rare as most of you know from my previous post, as I almost never go to NYC, but they threw me a huge pot of cash to run an important load so I went. It was night. As I pulled up to the toll plaza to pay the toll, the toll taker asked me if everything was okay. I said yes and he said pull over to the right my supervisor wants to speak to you. This is the Bridge Authority, not the regular police. So I pull over completely perplexed and two guys in uniform come walking out with some other regular schmoe in jeans and a tee shirt. The schmoe is claiming to the Bridge Authority that I hit him, well really side-swiped I guess, his minivan and blew out the passenger side window. Total crap. We walk around to his minivan and indeed the window is completely blown inward with glass all over the inside of the minivan and a nasty scrape up the right side. He claims I moved to the left on the bridge and hit him. Total scam, no damage at all to my truck or trailer, I tell him to stick it up his ###, and take pictures of both my truck and his minivan and I leave. Two days later I get a call from our insurance guy (Panther self insures eveything under a certain amount like maybe 10 or 25 grand-not sure of the amount) so this is a Panther guy or at least Panther is on the hook. I tell him of the scam and he asures me I'm good. Fast forward to early January and my yearly review comes up and bam, I'm gone. No appeal, nothing. I'm told I can try to do whatever is necessary to clear my record but my days at Panther are over. It takes a minimum of 60 days to clear your DAC so I am now out of trucking as I needed employment and found it in California in a non-trucking industry. I have sold my truck, but I'm still going through the process of clearing my record anyway, but I'm not sure I'll ever return to trucking now that I am comfortable doing something else. I'll leave that story with no further comment and you guys can make up your own minds about Panther. I had some good times with them and gave them my all. I was one of their best. Good luck everyone.

PantherII was a bad company. If you go there you will find out soon enough, just dont get brainwashed in the orientation. It's like attending one of those networking orientations where they get you all hyped about the money you can make... and never do. You'll have some big weeks that only get you believing it may get better... never does.
All the negative comments about Panther II (Panther is another trucking company from FL hence the II) are true and are from actual drivers and owners(current or former). I was both with two trucks.
The positive comments on the other hand are from the people at PantherII.
They have a person maybe more that are members on these forums and sit there all day to read and respond to these boards. My recruiter at the time told me this. To find out ask them a question about trucking that only a real trucker would know and see if they reply. See how well they know what the inside of the Baltimore T/A looks like:).
As for the shrewdness and insincerity of the people there my lasting impression on PantherII is how after over a year of trying to live the dream they lead you to envision you're left in debt and probably bad health. Just to summarize, I had gallstones when I left them. The thing is that the 1.5 years I was with them I never had 15 loads offered to me or other truck in a month maybe even two, yet me and my co-driver at the time were amazed at how after waiting to get a load home for my surgery( to remove gallbladder) we deadheaded home(they allow you to find loads or backhauls from brokers or loadboards, but can also disapprove for whatever reason) and this is how many load offers we received from them heading back away from home. I already informed them that i had to go home for the scheduled surgery. The dispatcher said I could just reschedule?
They do like married teams though to be fair. So in the case of a married team having a good comment may be true. I have met only one married couple that said they were happy at PantherII and the others I knew were furious at the lies.
If you go there and you read this thread can't say you weren't forewarned.

I completely agree! My husband decided to get into expediting with a cargo van some years ago and signed the truck on with Panther II. I was leary, because they hold back your first three weeks of pay, and at the end of the fourth week you get a one week check, minus four weeks of expenses. Plus they didn't offer fuel cards at the time, and you could take no advances either. Try running a business and paying all your personal bills when the company won't pay you for a month. We decided to go to the bank and try to get a business loan so we would have some working capitol until the business started to turn a profit. The recruiter from Panther actually sent us a letter signed by the owner that would GUARANTEE us 2000-2500 miles per week!We did the math-this would definately work. HA HA HA!!! My husband was lucky if he got 2000 miles a month. After six months and going deeper in debt, we ended up giving up on the cargo van and Panther(plus they kept our money that was in escrow) Stick with a straight truck, and if you can add a tag axle,a lift gate and haul hazmat and willing to go into Canada you should do fine. JUST STAY AWAY FROM PANTHERII!!!!!!!
