I'm glad you note your own biases. More people should.

Maybe Canada is different from the U.S.; since you mention, "efficient packing". I never was taught that nor have I ever heard of packing efficiently as something to be aware. However, I have seen traffic between Ft. Collins and Denver, where it's a 75mph limit with two lanes for much of the way, then 3 lanes. The cars usually try to achieve 75 to 85mph while driving at less than one second following distance. Actually it would be best described in feet rather than seconds. Looks like 10 to 30 feet on average while at 75mph. One car goes to the right lane after passing someone in a lawful manner, then approaches a slower truck doing 65 and wants back over, so signals left. NO ONE will allow this car ANY room to get back over. After miles of this, he jerks over causing a chain reaction pile up because of 1) his frustration with rude drivers and 2)speeders not allowing proper spacing for safety and the efficient movements in traffic. By the way, there are highway signs from time to time that remind motorists to use proper following distance and to obey the 75mph speed limit too. The citation is 4 points for following too close. Rear ending someone is "careless operation" and looks very bad on your insurance.

Actually, no. You're assuming that I'm wrong based on how you think I must drive, which you always do. I don't lead the pack, the pack falls in and follows me. I'm not the fastest, which I said and you ignored in your rush to condemn me.

Now I'll say what I see of your way that you want me to drive. You want me, in the middle of heavy traffic, to take my eyes off the road in front to look in my mirrors constantly for some idiot running 75 in a 55. When that idiot and his accompanying pack come up behind me, you want me to run over all the traffic packed in the right lane to get out of their precious way. God forbid they should have to move over one lane to the left. Well, you're going to have to spring for some armor so I don't tear my truck up since I can't afford it right now.

I never assume...learned that from The Odd Couple! And I try not to think how you drive...I raised my children and survived their teenage driving years...don't care to relive those nightmares again!
I never rush either...I take my time and consider all the options!

It would behoove you to do it rather than talk about it!
You won't need to look very far...but try moving the mirror so you can see down the side of your rig instead of having the mirror turned so you can only see yourself!
You mean there are other truckers that follow you? Is that like a dog chasing its tail?
When you maintain the safe cushion between you and the one in front, you won't run over anything but the gravel on the road surface!
It's so nice to hear you talk polite about those in the right lane...calling us "precious"...and we thought you were just another big mean bullie!
From your earlier comment...wherever you lead they will follow!
Try slowing down, it could improve your fuel economy...then you could buy all armour you want....

Ok, you're not listening at all. No, I think I'll drive my truck with the same sense that has kept me out of trouble all this time. If you drove a truck, you'd know what I was talking about.

I do every day, and the variety of makes, types, and equipment used would truly amaze you...someday you too will learn that fast and safe aren't always synonymous. When that day comes, you will look back and be able to see what we are talking about, and that perhaps you were wrong...or the worst case scenario...we were right!

Yeah, you keep saying that but will not say what was wrong with my method or how you'd do it. So? How do you get through town?
