Prime emerged from Bankruptcy in 1988... your math of success is off by a few decades.
Wow, I go home for a few days and all hell breaks loose.
I must preface this with the fact that I still love it here at Prime... good miles, no problems, and I still think its a great company to work for... There is no change in my attitude in this department.
IP you need to tone it down a bit...
I can see how Prime detractors see you as "Cheif of Prime Propaganda" or "Cheerleader #1"
Your a Prime "company driver"... Ive got no problem backing you up when it comes to company driver issues, topics... we have the same fleet manager and he is awesome. (I know you feel the same way) We can hope, but not all the FMs can be a great a guy as ours.
Yes, Fleet Managers who arent pulling their weight and not managing fleets to profitability are let go or re-assigned... However, that cant be an instantanouse thing... So if the FM is suffering, then you know some of the drivers under him are suffering.
If you listen hard enough to the drivers who complain and the drivers who are boasting... certain FM names become a re-occuring theme.
You continue to "armchair quaterback" this whole lease deal from the company driver seat. I know you've done alot of research... asked alot of questions. Even getting our FM to provide the revenue to the truck on your particular loads to "shadow" lease or simulate leasing. But you simply do not have a single minute of experiance as a Prime L/O.
You can go on and on about previous "small business" experiance and what Kevin Rutherford on the radio says you should do.(I know he would prefer you to own your own truck) It is a diservice to individuals who come on here looking or asking questions about coming to Prime and find you providing answers about the Lease Program...
I strongly feel that you should leave lease topics on this board to the lease operators. There are a handful of current Prime L/O around here that can do so... and they do so.
General Prime questions, training and Company Driver topics? fire away... probably no one better than you that can handle those particular Prime topics.
Prime's lease deal. The math gets done.

They started in 1970 - and yeah, they successfully emerged from a bankruptcy in 1988. You know how many companies manage that? Not many.
Just sticking up for a good outfit - we both have since Steve managed to get himself booted off of this forum. I'll be leasing soon enough. -
I dont care if it's prime or another truck company ,you all have taught me rule#1 do-not lease period!
jtrnr1951 and Beechvtail Thank this. -

U2. My beef is with prime and how I was treated. I have no problem with your posts. In fact I enjoy reading them. I do not feel like you are trying to sell a load of goods. You do not come unglued and act like your mama was offended when people talk down about prime. Your sidekick there however seems to take it personal when others disagree with him on what they think of prime.
He keeps telling me I was in the flat and it is a different animal. Same goes for him. He is co and it is a different animal than lease. I look at it like this. Might have been flat, but still had prime on the door. Just like combat. If it is friendly fire coming at me I do not consider it friendly.Dang, brits will shoot at anything that moves...

Its a company. That takes a lot of people, some of whom blow at their jobs - notarps you ran into a few. I've run into a few like that too. Overall, my impression is that there are more folks doing a good job at Prime than otherwise. You can think whatever you like about your experience at Prime - but that doesn't mean that the entire company is bad - and it isn't. There are a lot worse trucking companies out there.
Yup lease and company are different animals, and I've never said otherwise. -
So, make $1300 a week as a L/O or make $700 a week as a company driver feeling good that you are not paying for the company owners truck! I'll take the $1300 and couldn't give a crap about how the owner makes his money.
Its a free country(for now), so go do what you want but don't critsize someone just because they decide to do something that you wouldn't. -
and the wheels of the bus go round and round.....hahahahaha
