Another question. While planning a trip I realized that when zoomed in on a street you can select the north or southbound lanes.

When you zoom out you select the street only it seems.

Q1 If I select and name a HWY spot for a route, is the RND 700 smart enough to know I'm planning a North or Southbound route? Or do I have to select the North or South bound lane depending on my route plan?

Q2 If it is smart enough to know the direction I will be traveling, does it matter what zoom level I was in when I selected the HWY?

Q3 And can you answer these questions as they apply to complex intersections?

    Thanks

    **** Edit starts here *****

I ask this because while in Indiana I tried to route southbound. I assume by accident I selected the northbound lane because once I started the route, the RND 700 wanted me to turn around at the next intersection, go back over the part of the hwy I just traveled and then turn around again and continue south. The only thing I could think of is that when I selected that section of hwy I must have selected the northbound side.

If I'm right, at what point of zoom out can I be sure I will no longer be selecting the North or Southbound lanes?

Sorry if I made this longer than it needed to be but the problem just seems odd to me.
And I also realize most of my problems are user error lol.
    Thanks

Ok, now it won't route from Box Springs, GA to Grayson, GA. No valid route. It routes most of the way but I can't see where the routing ends because it keeps locking up. I had a detour routed but it loses it every time I have to restart it and now I can't even set it again because it is so god awful slow. Sure would be nice to be able to find a shower near my destination.

If someone purchases a TND 700 off ebay still sealed in box it is warrantied pretty much like getting it as a gift right?

You should take me up on my offer as before... My TND routes to it. About 129 miles..

I am on the newer Database and version 1573 on a 5".

    Thanks,
    Mark

When you pick a location normally by entering an address/city center/POI/etc... the TND senses the direction you need to go from your location.

When you zoom in and put the green + on a location you are actually picking a Lat\Long. The TND will route you to that location. If you happen to be North bound and pick the south bound lane, then the TND will think you want the south bound lane. It will route you to the location you selected.

If you are zoomed out and pick a location, the pixel is not clearly located on a location to you, but it is on a Lat\Long. You could be picking anywhere. You would have to zoom in to see actually where the green + is to see where you have selected.

So, if you wish to route to a location by zooming, be sure you pick the correct location or direction of travel that you need.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Just a quick tip to some people who mentioned earlier the slow routing of the TND. I have found, especially when moving that if you want your route completed ASAP, go to the points of interest screen where you pick either My Route My Truck etc. and wait for the red dots to dissapear. I have plugged in a long route before and 20 minutes later it was not complete on the turn list. But when I went to the POI sreen it completed in a couple of minutes at most.

Don't know whether that was mentioned before, just thought I would throw that out there.
