And to take it a bit further, the KEYS to the truck should be in your pocket! There is very good reason why some docks require some type of "locking" device before they will touch a trailer. Whether it is having the driver turn over the keys, (which really is NO guarantee of anything, since most of us have a spare set,) to having a dock lock, an airline lockout, or requiring the landing gear be dropped, there is good reason for it.
    I know that I couldn't.

It'd would depend on what other options I might have, but it would be hard to continue for sure!

Sad. If I were a trainer I'd be using handheld radio communication any time I was out of the truck and the trainee was in the truck, for any reason. Perhaps a radio would have prevented this. Of course, I don't think I'd be mucking around with anything under the truck while another was capable of moving it under any circumstance.

Maybe it could be prevented i don't know for sure?
But i think we can all agree that driveing a 80,000 pounds truck is not something you take lightly.

Very PUNny! But I'll add to it.

The person or object it is driven over certainly didn't/won't take it lightly.

Hmmm, this thread really could go downhill from here, couldn't it?:biggrin_2558:

That is such a sad situation, and I feel bad for both of them and their families. I can not imagine what the trainee is feeling mentally. I know two people who have had wrecks and the driver of the other vehicle was killed in them. Even in one case where the wreck was not their fault, they felt guilty for living while the other person died.
My heart goes out to all involved with this tragedy.
