Or find an exit or shoulder that does not require me to use my truck as a toilet.
I have absolutely no idea what a " non-OTR pogues" is or are but if that implies I'm not so #### lazy that a walk across the parking lot to utilize a latrine then guilty I guess.
Must be that new breed.
Absolutely disgusting that one would urinate in a bottle to save a walk of what maybe five minutes?
Driving OTR . Is this a reality for me

My kidneys and rearend need me to stop every 3 to 4 hours. Plus it isn't recommended to sit much longer due to blood clots could form. These blood clots can break off and lodge in such a way to kill. Also DOT likes to see a break every few hours. They also know a driver can't drive 8 to 10 hours without at couple of breaks along the way.
Tazz Thanks this. -

Depends.
I sometimes drive 9 hours or more. It just depends. Most of the time, I stop by six hours or so. Other times, it might be 3 hours.
DOT has never questioned my time on the books. -
Roadmedic I'm refering to the Feds. I don't think State DOT really care. I look at it this way. If you gotta go pull over and go. Yes a OTR driver should plan their trip with pit stops along the way.

Have not worried about them. If they ask me, I tell them it was as driven. Let them prove otherwise.

I'll chime in w/the other posters here. Gatorade & plastic V8 "splash" bottles work best, because of wide-mouth openings.
If you're a rookie driver, I'd certainly recommend a bit o' practice, before you try this while actually driving, but it can & has been done. As already stated, find yourself a fairly empty stretch of hwy. Keep in mind, you can drop the jug, and anything else, then get right back to... (want to say the situation at hand, but perhaps that is NOT the best choice of words)... dealing w/the road conditions. A puddle o' pee in your truck is very much preferable to your truck in the: ditch, median, car ahead of you, etc.
I generally just make sure the lid is well sealed (this is an IMPORTANT step), then put the bottle/jug in my shower bag, & mt it in the toilet where I take a shower. Alternatively, there are the rare occasions when I'll need to use a milk jug, and need to throw it away in garbage can... same rules... make darned sure lid is well sealed! A urine spill is not good for anyone!
If you find a certain bottle/jug becomes your favorite... do yourself a favor, take it home w/you every couple/triple weeks, rinse it well, add some bleach + water, shake well, let sit a few hrs, then empty. DO NOT RINSE. The slight residue from the bleach will keep the future contents from developing an odor for several days.
Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance. -
I've no problem whatsoever w/a 10-15 minute walk, however that's not a walk I'm taking in the middle of my sleep period. I will utilize the bottle, then deal w/the bottle the next morning, or whenever I visit the showers again. If I get outta my sleeper and walk "whatever distance" across a p/lot... sleepy-time is OVER.

No... Pilot/Flying J/TA/Petro/Wilco/Etc... bathrooms are disgusting. At least you don't get gonorrhea on the bottom of your feet when you pee in a bottle.
Edit: BTW... Campa-Chem (Non-Formaldehyde formula) keeps your pee jug fresh right up til you empty it. About a tablespoon per gallon jug is all you need.RAILSPLITTER Thanks this. -
No, that comment wasn't directed to either of you... and "new breed?" What does that mean? "Ain't my first day out..."
