Yes they still run autos. What kind of info do you wish to know? There are several TA threads going, have posted on all of them, and the basic info is still the same. If you have any specific questions, let them fly and I'll try to answer them.

How has your experience been there? How long have you driven for them? Do you know if their new trucks will be automatic as well. I was on their website and saw they are taking recent grads as new hires. What is your home time like and what kind of miles are you getting? Thanks again for the info.

Been with them # 18 mos. Experience has had both its ups and downs. Preety sure the new trucks will be auto. Miles right now are running in the 2900 to 3200 range. Their usually pretty good about HT but one thing you'll need to remember as a new drivr, the load comes 1st!!! Equipment 2nd and the drvr a distant 3rd.

Hey Panhandle flash, it looks like I'll be going to TransAm in 2 or 3 weeks myself. Are you a company driver, or L/O or O/O? They say I should be getting 2600+ miles a week and can expect $7-800 a week take home due to these miles. Is that anything close to what you're seeing on the road? Do they take good care of their fleet? Do they take care of their drivers? I know they ordered a lot of new trucks and mostly have T660's on the road now, but do you know what I'd be getting as a new driver? I visited their Olathe lot on Friday and they showed me the inside of a brand new truck for a L\O to get, but since I will be company I hope I don't get too crappy a truck. I also noticed that their trucks all have new radio's with Sirius Sat. radio in them. Is that ALL of their trucks or just the shiny L\O trucks that I was able to view?

Thanks for lookin at all my random questions lol.

Get used to hearing about L/O stuff. The will all but force you to sign a lease. Hopefully you are in a financial position to wait weeks after training for a truck. You most likely will. They will continue to pay you 50 dollars a day which, since Olathe isn't a cheap place to be, you will eat 30-40 of.

Ernie (backing range instructor) will tell you how great the lease is and "guarantee" you will make a killing on it. Ernie is a human piece of trash and is lying through his teeth to get a bonus for convincing you to lease. If fact, they even plant a few guys in the yard to talk about how much they make leasing. It's like undercover recruiting which this board sees from time to time. I figured this out when me and my trainer had to return to the yard 3 times in two weeks for repairs and I saw the same two guys telling the same tall tales about leasing.

Be careful and good luck. The whole company isn't bad but you will be dealing with the devil for a while at first.

Quick question for ya based on your response, thanks by the way. You said "Have no problem with letting you go to TK while on the road" What's TK?

And you mention 10 cent per diem. What is that? Only per diem I'm aware of is like food expenses companies give their traveling employees.

    Thanks again.

Thats exactly what per diem is, food and stuff. Say they quote you a starting rate of 30 cents per mile. !0 cents of that is actually per diem so that you are only paying taxes on just 20 cents per mile. That 10 cents is a tax write off for the company. Use the search function in the upper right corner and hunt up the threads on per diem if you want to know more.

    TK stands for Thermo King.

Ah, and once again thank you for your answers. Hopefully I'll be able to take you up on that offer of your phone number once I get going and through training.
