For some reason, when I hit the letters uio, jkl, and m I get 456, 123, 0 unless I hold down the "Fn" key. What happened? How do I fix it?
Help! My keyboard's spitting out #s. Why?

Seriously though, never ran into that before.
JustSonny Thanks this. -
uh oh sounds like you are using short cut keys, wish I could help you

Thats what my laptop did when I spilled soda on the keyboard

It's a side affect of starting too many threads.. It's a built in Truckers Report defense mechanism..
bullhaulerswife, future driver, JustSonny and 1 other person Thank this. -
That wasn't soda, and you know it.

Truth of the matter is, Ken hacked your computer.![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fi242.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fff286%2Fmomsallbsns%2FSmilies%2Fcomputer.gif&hash=5190e77b0fc110f8ace28fa3c8bff213)
Then, he called all the guys in the back row, and told them about it, so that they would be watching you squirm.![[IMG]](proxy.php?image=http%3A%2F%2Fi242.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fff286%2Fmomsallbsns%2FSmilies%2Fcellphone.gif&hash=ac6d96e14159f2d9f671d22712516f54)
He just wanted to keep you thinking about which button you pushed that you shouldn't have.

You are using a laptop? Turn off the number lock.JustSonny Thanks this.
-
It sounds like your keyboard does not have a numeric keypad and if you look at those keys they probably have numbers on those keys also.
you locked your keys in reverse,,, so if you do have the numbers displayed on those keys along with the normal letter, Num lock should release it.
If not then you have set your Fn to opposite of normal keyboard functions. You can do a restore to a prior date\time or let me know what your laptop model is... I can do some research..
Thanks,

If it's the same computer you have used since you came here, then the keypad is worn out.
Anyway, you're from Ms, how did you tell the difference?
bullhaulerswife and JustSonny Thank this. -
I think you and Rich have zeroed in on the problem. However, I can't find a numbers lock key on the keyboard. I've got a Gateway MX3225. I appreciate the help. Holding down the Fn key to type is getting old!
