Thanks for your response Mark. I think I have this one figured out. You mentioned it taking cost factor into account, so I just went with the assumption that it recognized the toll booth on the wrong side of the road (leaving nyc, rather than heading into). So my last trip I simply decided to follow my route, take the 287. As soon as I took that exit it continued on with its direction. That is exit 43 and it believes that is exit 45. So it was a simple matter of it showing the wrong exit #, but the right road. However it does show the route names for the roads at exit 45. But I am sure that is all stuff that will be fixed in the next update.
Thanks again, love the product!

RM has informed me that a very updated and current mapping database is coming out... when,,, cannot really mention it yet...
But, in what I have been forwarding to RM a lot of what has been turned in has been updated or corrected so far.
The method of delivery has to be determined also.
I live close to the intersection of I-40\I-77 in NC and once the new database has been released if you are in the area I can update you while you are on the road.. Approx about 30 minutes to update a T5C or T7C. The T5B I can exchange SD Cards.
Thanks,
MarkLooneyTune and Kimono_skunk Thank this. -
Highway 92 between Kearney and Excelsior Springs, Mo is marked restricted. It's not.
Mark Kling Thanks this. -
Were you saying the breadcrumbs will be in the next version release?

E-Mail me please.

Rand was made aware of an existing USB cable on the market that I had forgotten about that will hopefully resolve the power issue of certain laptops not seeing the TND as an USB Device.
The cable is very inexpensive, about $3.00.
I have ordered a few of the cables and will be testing them.
Gfinch is one user I know of that has had this issue. Any others?
Thanks,
Mark -
It would not recognize it when I plugged in for plug and play, so I downloaded the dock program from the RM web site, and it has worked since.
So far the update has helped allot.
I want the full route miles etc when using the via point also, but this is a start in the right direction.
For now to get the full route miles it takes me a little longer. I will set up for my final stop, so the location is in there. Then add the via point that I want. Which will then only show the miles to that location. But once both points are in the system it is easy to change my starting point to the via spot, then run it to the next stop, so I will know the miles for that section as well. Then I add them up.
Takes longer, but not allot and It is more functional than before.
Routing is much faster now, and I can finally avoid the tolls and not have it take forever to route.
I like the speed showing on the screen as it is now. Was a pain to see it in old spot.
I like that some of the tabs are more transparent now, so I can see more of the map.
Oh, and on the power light. Mine is green whenever charged and red whenever it is charging or unplugged also. It must just be a 500B thing.
Oh, CC You really need to get a call into Nemo about making sure people get that update.
I called the other day to talk to him about it on the air and call was lost after 30 min. Many callers have called and complained about the unit on the air, and I wanted to let them know (and future buyers) that this update was out and that it really made the unit usable for the first time.
Yes, for the first time. Up till this past week it was almost too much of a pain to use. I know, I was using it for 7 months.Last edited: Jun 12, 2010

Thanks for the other information. It has been painful and painless at the same time in a lot of the functions.

Hey Mark,
Has anyone mentioned this.
When following a route, the only time construction information is seen is when the route segment list is displayed. There are no alerts for this information. Is this something that can be changed at a later date? Seems to me that if one has construction on a given route, an alert should pop-up when the device enters the construction area.
My brother brought this up ( I bought a TND500 for him) and dang if he wasn't right-for once.
Mark
Oh, before I forget. RM needs to add or allow custom POI that covers both speed and redlight camera sites.Mark Kling Thanks this.
