Hey, i got some hearing loss and I passed DOT twice. I dont have CDL, but I took DOT for FedEx driving position.

Can I get CDL A? I passed Schneider DOT and I was concerned if I signed contract and sent to Harrisburg, PA for training, can instructor send me home and end up owning Schneider $$$?

P.S.- The whisper test is a joke, IMO, I've been in rig many times before and there no way anyone can talk each other in whispering in loud rig. Unless you're Jack Bauer, lol.

    Any comments/advice are appreciated.

I have moderate hearing loss and was apprehensive about passing the test, although I know by now that the doctor is going to whisper, "Can you hear me now?" when my back is to him. I bought hearing aids and Blue Cross paid most of the $1,600. The aids are most useful conversing with my dispatcher at the end of the work day. I turn them off in the truck. The upshot is that the doctor still gave me a medical card without the hearing aid requirement, because it involves too much paper work.

Well it sounds like you got lucky by him not putting down you need hearing aids, but please be carefull! I know a lady who wears them and still can't hear anything being said sometimes, this can be dangerous, but heck we have deaf people in cars driving?? :thumbright:

So good luck and I am glad everything is working out for you, right?
