    Thanks for that as I posted pages back or on another thead about this and never really could get the grasp of it-doesn't help that I don't drive but I am trying to learn and understanding. My hubby was told basically the same thing THD was told. He is under the impression he has to take the 34 to reset his 70 despite I told him he can use back hours from the week (right?) as you explained. I told him to take to a driver in a T/S to clarify too. Of course his response is then I can have more time off- yes I agree if the 34 reset co-incides w/home time yeah! all for the more time the better at home- but if he is doing the reset in a T/S that bites. Pretty boring way to spend your time. :biggrin_25521:

    BTW how are you doing with out? Hopefully you have been sucessful so far!!

    That didn't last past 27 hours...going down 58 in OR, (south, or east I don't know) steep grade and I was doing a whopping 27 mph climbing the hill...a CR England driver, talking on his cell phone, decided to use a third of my lane along with his. Just a minor problem with this...I WAS IN MY LANE AT THE TIME!, and now I was over on the narrow shoulder kicking up dust and realizing the 50 foot drop into the trees was a bad option! Add to this a few OR 4 wheelers not liking the slow motion big rig, deciding their day at the lake was important enough to pass and cut me off, in a no passing zone, with another big rig coming the opposite way.

    I made it to the Pilot at Chemult and proceeded to buy a pack at the wonderful price of $6.85. Man did it taste good...and after only 28 hours the nicotine buzz was duly appreciated, as I sat there at the Pilot, sipping a fresh cup of Joe, and 3 cigarettes! :biggrin_25514:

    As for the other type of doing without....WORKING ON IT FOR NEXT WEEKS DAYS OFF!!!!!!!:biggrin_25521:

    Oh No problem there. To me, (from years ago), if I had more than 5 hrs to work with, regradless of where I was at in my 70, I would cranker her up & go until I had 30 min before shutting her down.

    Now, With all of these small changes & perposed changed, to me, if all I have left at the end of a 70hr stretch is a couple of hours, and the next day isn't going to give me any amount of breathing room, then heck, I may as well take a full 34 hrs straight & then hit it and get it. Yeh, it my place me behind schedual, but, it's better to be behind schedual out of hours in a truck stop than out on the side of some country road with no facilities for that same 34 hrs. Just my views, ;)
