its under the Driver Fitness section and most of the drivers on the road won't qualify. Your height and weight have to be in line with the BMI.
Everyone is worried about the points system which is bad enough but the health issues can be just as bad.
Not sure of all the details but some trucking companies are putting out CD's about it and they seem to be worried enough that they bought CD to warn their drivers.
Some companies already test Driver's for sleep apnea but now it will be required in the CSA...maybe not at first but it's in the rules for future use.
According to some internet sites...a neck larger than 17 inches which is a xl shirt size is a sign of Sleep Apnea.
This part could put you out of a job driving and could put some drivers out of a career they have worked at all their lives.
And with the stock market dropping and thousand of dollar of our retirement funds going to pot...you won't be able to retire...guess you can get a job as a door greeter at Wally World.
There is more to it than Sleep Apnea, high blood pressure and diabetes are going to add to it. Don't matter if you are on pills or insulin.
Not only are the carriers going to be hit with repairing their shotty equipment...there is going to be a massive driver shortage.
This might make some of you skinny folks happy but it shouldn't you will be worked to death and then...that will contribute to your points...you know the ones you fear getting and something to really toast you....the other alternative would be to replace you with aliens. :biggrin_25521:

Like said, there is no federal rule to enforce BMI, etc. The Driver Fitness BASIC will enforce licensing, training, and qualification under Part 391.

Ok after doing some reading about this CSA 2010 coming up. some of rules make sense & will work for the drivers but there's one I totally dont get. CSA 2010 read's if you get into an accident even not your fault you still get a point on your CSA2010.. I got to thinking about this alittle..So lets say your sitting at a red light stopped & you get hit from behide why would even get a point on your CSA ? can anyone explain that to me

oh I know that first hand it was about 4 years ago give or take I was in NJ on I-80 west I watched a 4 wheeler whip around me lose control & crash in the tree's I stopped to see if I could help in anyway. when the cops got there they walked passed everyone else & came stight at me first thing I heared was driver licence log book & reg didnt even borther to ask what happened they went over my truck for 2 hours looking for anything that could have caused the 4 wheeler to lose control. all this cause I stopped to help. they were looking for anything to blame me for it

now i don't post much anymore it seems that every time i do i wind up making somebody mad or some interstate attorney comes on and wants to argue so i just don't i just continue to do it my way with absolutely no problems, not even with the DOT.

but the new rules and regulations i hear everyone complaining about have been a long time coming it's not new we have all known about it for a long time , did we say anything about it then? no we did not it was just business as usual, did anyone complain to there Representative ? nope only a few of us not enough to do any good so now guess what it's here and now it's to late to do anything about it . when big brother gets in your business you rarely get rid of him and he only gets worse.

it starts when government gets involved in free Enterprise, not a good thing and when they do they always make things worse if fact thats the only thing you can depend on where government is concerned they always make it worse hell they can't even do there job right let alone somebody Else's but they can sure screw things up BUT WE DID ASK FOR IT .now everybody wants to worry about it and complain, I'm afraid it's a little late to worry and complain it's here all you can do now is put up with it .

as we get further into the new regs the next complain is going to be the DOT and how they enforce the new regs , and as usual you will be wrong the job of the DOT is enforcement and safety he doesn't make the law and he can't change the law all he can do is enforcement and he has to enforce the law , he has no choice if he doesn't he is in violation of law you really think he is going to ignore the law and be arrested himself? i doubt it . he by law has to enforce the new regs.

now I'm no fan of the DOT by any means but i don't like the dept of transportation not the DOT at roadside he is busting his but trying to do a job so don't blame him point you blame at Washington BIG BROTHER and i can promise you this it has only just stated there will be more and will probably be worse.

WE like it or not we bring all these laws on ourselves by the way we act and behave and our attitude THEY CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT well they are doing something about it there doing what can't be done and there going to make a bundle while doing it you guys need to learn that a truck all trucks are an ATM machine for the government they spent to much on fool projects now they need money well guess where there going to get that money TRUCKS they always have and they always will the truck is always WRONG. every time you get a ticket some form of government makes money, is it right ? hell no , but does that make a difference? hell no all they want is your money and whats more there going to get it and once the government gets involved there is not a #### thing you can do about it .

all the new regs have not a #### thing to do with safety, it's all about money and a form of punishment for acting the way we do we make ourselves stand out we attract there attention and they respond buy making a new law to take your money. they can't steal it so they make a new law so they can take it legally and they do a good job of it , it's working .

when a bunch of grown men act like a heard of two year olds there going to get you one way or the other and taking your money and maybe your cdl is what will hurt you the most and they can do a fine job of that.

now if some want to get mad at me for my comments, so be it some times the truth hurts, all you have to do to stop more from coming is act your age instead of your shoe size, works every time .

as far as getting mad i don't have time i got to go make another deposit.

best of luck to all. southernpride :biggrin_25514:

Very interesting article. anyone notice that Hogan made it co policy to fire any driver who has 3 speeding tickets or WARNINGS in 3 years. There trucks are already cut back to 63, and they are still having trouble meeting the csa goals. They say that they may have to tighten up some more.Read fire drivers with 1 or 2 tickets or warnings? This sort of thing is what you have coming down the pike.
