My jakes dont make enough noise to do that unless im in an area where the road amplifies the noise such as tunnels and canyons. On my motorcycle soemtimes i pull the clutch and rev it up to remind people im there, or just honk my horn..

I slow down if they're in front of me. It'll ruin my day to hit it. Think about that one. :) I don't try to out think them. But, the other day, if i hadn't been going 65 mph, i would have been hit by a deer. I noticed it right before i got to it, and it saw me and took off running towards me. I feel that it would have ran into the side of my truck if i was going any slower!

You don't want to #### with the ecosystem like that though. They did some stupid #### in my area when I was a kid and I watched the harm it caused.

We had too many rabbits, they dig up gardens. So they introduced coyotes to thin the population of rabbits.

Now we have too many coyotes. Come the hell on.

Every animal is important to the ecosystem, even god #### wasps and hornets

It's usually those guys with un-muffled jake brakes that can probably wake up an entire parking lot at a truck stop. Those are the morons that the cops should go after.

No cops should go after people that torture their animals by dressing them up in stupid costumes.

I know some drivers use it all the time because they like a way it sounds and they are proud. But most times we dont even realize that we using it, well at least i dont. Unless there is a sign said no J/brakes then i turn it off. But its the easy way to slow dow a little withought using brakes.

Using engine brakes wastes fuel. I only use them when on grades.

Doesn't really waste fuel, the engine is already running so it doesn't burn anymore fuel than what would be used anyways.

Sorry to disagree but engine brakes do waste fuel they consume energy and the energy they consume is provided by fuel.

Actually technically the engine is not running when the jake is on. The fuel is shut off when jake braking...

Yup, they sure do. Just like how brakes waste fuel, which people dont believe either. That's why it's so stupid when people are so out of their way to pass people just to get to a red light. I try to time out most red lights in my 4 wheeler, on my bike, and in the truck for that reason. Why waste the extra fuel? It does make a difference.

Now, if i am going to be the first one at that light, and i know its a sensor light or believe it may be, i will race to it, but not ridiculously. Those dont turn green unless someone stops! :)

Let's see if we have this right now, ......
Engine brakes waste fuel, but not really. What engine brakes really do is consume the energy provided by the fuel when the fuel to the engine is shut off when Jake braking, and people don't believe that using the service brakes wastes fuel either.

I'm sure glad y'all made that subject perfectly clear.
