Home time is up to you. Spend 4 days off the road sitting on the couch, and you sacrifice a paycheck basically. So you're looking at getting paid (only when the wheels turn) for about 44 weeks. It's quite easy to average $800 net per week as a company driver - mostly it depends on how agressive you are in making yourself available for loads... as the others have pointed out - attitude is everything. You do the math.
Under. Probably get kicked out of a trainers truck.
Hey U2... does this guy remind you of your buddy that "Skunk" guy?

Good Lord man, you have no idea that you are about to waste several months of your life. This is not a job. This is a lifestyle. And with your attitude, you are never going to survive out here.
And no, nobody will tell you that you are wrong. You're absolutely correct. Prime is a terrible company. My advice is to stay far, far away. Try Swift, CR England, or Werner. Please stay away from Prime. Thank you.maverick77, DirtySideDown and AZ CATS Thank this. -
As for me, I like to work for a sucky ### company. Heck thats why I choose Prime. Where do I sign the dotted line? Oh I am sorry for my sarcasm.... I guess its not allowed in this forum.
Thanks again U2, IP, TruckerMike, & Sazook. You made my "lifestyle" choice of sucking big time an easy one.
See you all on the road. Heck, we'll meet up somewhere at a T/S and drink a beer and say how crappy Prime really is......Then everyone on here will have said "I Told You So!!!"
OK OK I guess too much huh? -
sazook and DirtySideDown Thank this.

I have already been OTR for 3 years. I was just under the weight limit that requires a CDL. I've done loads over 13' wide from Miami to Oakland. I ran my own truck and I have leased onto other companies. I don't want to do either one again. Let someone else pay for the fuel, tires, trucks, find the loads, and all that. As for finding a local or regional job. I already know where I'm going after my year and it's a company that has more trucks than Prime and pays way more and yes I will be home everyday. I'll also bet that as long as I get a trainer who actually wants to train and drive I'll have no problem there.

Maybe if you people would read and understand what you are reading and get more of an education past 3rd grade you might get it. I KNOW what I am getting into. I'm not expecting the world from this company. I am however glad someone said something about the "trainer kicking me out of the truck". I'll be sure to read everything before signing anything to make sure if that happens I'll have all that covered. I have more exp. than most of you even posting in this thread. I know alot more about this "trucking" business as I have already OWNED my own company and had people who drove for me. After having people work for me I can see how dumb some people really are. The bad part about all of this is I said it about all companies and not just Prime and yet none of you can get that. To be honest I really don't care what any of you think there's just as many saying Prime is the best since sliced bread as there is saying they the worse thing that happened to the trucking world. This all came from me stating exactly what Prime said and you all just start going off on me for what PRIME said not someone else. So, really you all don't like what PRIME said. Oh but I forgot I was misinformed or I misheard since you all didn't like the FACTS. Then again like most people you can't stand to know the truth and just want to keep living a dream. So, I'll just do what I sign to do and move on to the 55.6 cpm, great benefits, all drop and hook, home every day, not have to pay for tools needed for the job, and not have to worry about mpg so I drive 62mph so you all can keep living the dream of having a life outside of a 62mph truck.

The only person who actually has posted anything that I can respect for the most part is IP. The trainer kicking someone out of the truck just says even more of how people are just like companies. They don't care about anyone but themselves. I would make sure the person was at the terminal or at home and would talk to them about what was going on way before so they could change what they are doing or just wouldn't be suprised. I have heard of people just leaving others at a truck stop or anywhere. I don't knnow how those people could sleep at night or how a person could treat another person that way. Maybe I just have morals.
maverick77 and ironpony Thank this.
