i was trying to get on with their shuttle fleet before my miles plummeted. shuttling is a bit difficult to get on to. it also pays PER HOUR at something like $14.75 to start. every single shuttle driver i spoke to LOVED it. they weren't going anywhere!

i doubt they stole your check. it's just that you weren't making jack squat when you quit.

Actually Knight does those kind of runs..shuttle SLC to Elko, NV and swap loads with trucks coming from Sparks. I ran one once out of Sparks in my sleeper truck when no freight was moving out of there.

Also, Phx to Quartzite, swapping with trucks from Fontana. In fact, my Express truck was in the shop one weekend when I was starting out, so I took a daycab and an MT to the bottled water place (?) in Cabazon, CA and brought back a load, since regularly loads coming out of there were too heavy for sleeper trucks.

If you are new to Knight always check payroll w/hubbies miles. My husband has been w/them for years and payroll is screwed up more than it is right. We have developed a system over the years, where he emails me load numbers, pick up, drop off and total miles. I always check line by line payroll and 3 out 4 weeks a month it is wrong. Never trust Knight payroll.

I do have to say even though payroll is a mess, we have a great dispatcher and a good terminal crew.

I can only guess that payroll is a "mess" because they are based out of Phoenix and have to deal with hundreds of trucks across the US. So much to process in so little time!:blob7:

They maybe they need to quit "salary saving" and get enough QUALIFIED PEOPLE WHO GIVE A #### on board to do the work. I haven't worked for Knight since 2004, but I had the same problems with payroll then, that folks are talking about now.

ENOUGH ALREADY. They need to quit screwing their drivers. There is no reason that it should have to be a continual series of "corrective phone calls" to payroll to get the #### thing right.

BUT They rely on drivers that don't check their pay, why do you think they don't issue pay statements? Oh sure, you can view them online! In my 11 months working there, I NEVER WAS ABLE TO LOG IN THE THE WEBSITE TO CHECK MY PAY!!!! I wonder why...something hide perhaps, Mr. Knight???
Just imagine how much extra money they are skimming off the top if only half their drivers actually take the time to double check EVERY PAYCHECK!
MAYBE that was how the family bought that new jet???
But if they think you are trying to lie to them...!
