I drove an ungoverned Covenant truck in 2008. It used to average 6.5 mpg. :yes2557: I LOVED THAT TRUCK!! But they had to sell it....:biggrin_2557:

Landstar and Mercer. They are companies, so technically the trucks which haul for them could be said to be company trucks. They are ungoverned. Also I think there are some companies in and around Illinois ,that might or might not be owned by Eastern Europeans. They will go pretty fast.

The companies own their trucks,so they have the right to determine how the truck is operated , and by whom .

If you don't buy what the company tells you, do not work for them.

There is a large company , whose trucks are ungoverned, they have non-forced dispatch , you can carry all the pets you want, carry all the passengers you want, take whatever routes you want, fuel wherever you want, take as much time at home as you want ,choose what type of truck you drive, what color truck, what engine, transmission and rears , what type of freight you haul ,you don't go to NYC and Canada if you don't want, and there is not much of a safety department breathing down your neck forcing you to follow the HOS rules. And you can get from 80 cents a mile.

That company is called INDEPENDENT OWNER OPERATOR.
