It completely depends on what you are doing and what your needs are. If you need a go-fast truck, hard puller, don't give a crap about fuel economy and want to look "cool" get a Paccar (Pete or KW) longnose type.

If you want fuel economy, really don't care how "cool" you look and don't want to go fast, try a 13-letter s***-spreader, Volvo or Freightshaker. They might make fun of you, but you'll be laughing all the way to the bank on your fuel savings.

No I didn't. The ones I listed are getting between 7 and 8. (13-letter's are getting closer to 8...w/Maxx Force power plant.)

Those two have been averaging 6.75 to 7.

it's probably more important to make sure the truck is spec'd for what you want (engine, trans, gear ratios, etc) than the make and model, unless that specific model has a bad reputation for problems. 2005 Volvos come to mind for electrical problems. Also heard 2010 Pro-stars have issues since they started building them in Mexico.

It can be a reliable truck and not maximized profit if it's spec'd wrong.
