That is only inexperienced drivers though. My husband was paid $300 for orientation ($100 a day, 3 days long), they paid for lunch, put him up in a very nice hotel, paid him $500 a week for training.
You can get authorization for unauthorized toll roads, you just have to call in first. They give you an authorization number that must be turned in with your toll receipts. He doesn't use the EZ Pass, it's simple to get cash for toll roads.
Longhaul and linehaul get a choice of either percentage or mileage pay. My husband chose percentage pay. Even not getting paid for bouncing less than 150 miles he grosses over $1000 weekly. If you are unhappy with your pay choice you can change it...obviously not per load or weekly changes but you can change it. You are given all the information you will need to make an informed choice in pay.
TMC has been wonderful to us and he's very happy there.

There are far more inexperienced drivers going to orientation than there are experienced. If TMC was real good they wouldn't be getting 50 or more recruits a week to replace the ones who quit. As I said, in my case, I won't work for $1000 a week if it means over 70 hours a week. The only authorization I ever got to run unauthorized toll roads was if the trip was over 600 miles and scheduled next day delivery as per the rules of TMC.

It is simple to get cash for toll roads as you said. You go to the ATM and pay their service charge which ends up costing the driver as much as if he had EZ Pass.

Drivers Wife; How long has it been since your hubby went thru TMC trng? I graduate this week and had been fearful of the low training pay. I guess I will have to check again... or did your husband have to hammer out a special deal????

To ANYONE reading this thread, keep in mind that we have already confirmed at least TWO people that are posting from TMC servers, thus suspected plants in these forums to either recruit, or to offer suspicious views on the company.

I like to take people at their word, but what may be going on here is a collective effort on behalf of TMC employees who are not drivers for the company, to falsely represent themselves as such.

Read the posts, consider from what point of view it may be coming from, and tread carefully.

And that's all I have to say about that.

Well if there are TMC employee's "posing" as drivers for the company....then that tells me a lot about the comapny and I don't mean that in a positive way :angry3:

TT, I think that you should identify them.

I'm green, still in ATDS here in Texas and am considering TMC as a career choice since the pay looks good and the home time is good, but after reading this, I'm not too sure...any suggestions? How about U.S. Xpress, they sounded pretty good...

My husband was done with orientation/training a few months ago. Training and starting pay was more for my husband because he is an experienced driver. For drivers with little or no experience the pay is lower, but that is to be expected with most any company. However, after a full month out of training, percentage pay can be higher than what you start at. Everyone has the ability to raise their percentage pay; it is based on driver performance (idle time low, fewer out of route miles, on time deliveries, etc).
I don't know much about mileage pay increases since my husband is on percentage.

You don't have to get cash from an ATM and pay fees: pay with a debit card and get cash back. TMC will give you a comcheck for toll roads if you need it. Or you can use your pay advance. None of those options cost you anything. If you want to use the toll pass thing, fine, just saying there are other ways if you don't want to pay for having it in your truck.

As for having posts from TMC servers, there are computers with internet access at the TMC hotel, so maybe that is where some of the posts are coming from. I'm pretty sure those show up as AHI servers. I don't know if that is the case, just wanted to point that out if no one had thought of it.

That may be true, but from this end posts that are clearly tied to the specific company in question will always be regarded as suspect.

But, in this case, the two individuals identified themselves as office employees, so there is no question. The posts are still in this thread...I think.
