sigh. Fuster cluck day today. Get to rcvr at 6pm last night, due in at 11pm. Wont take it early. Guy says go park somewhere around the corner and he'll call when he can get me in. Wait and get called at exactly 11 pm. Hmmmm. So, get a preplan while unloading says to pick up in Dallas at Kraft/Shippers Warehouse six blocks from the yard at noon. It's midnight and I'm still unloading, and I'm supposed to break for 10 and get to Dallas by noon? Sure. Load goes to Boulder on Wed morn. Sure. 800 miles and I have 9 hours next 2 days. Send QC about my hours. Get QC back saying to drop load on Dallas yard. I'm due for grad this week anyway. So load up this afternoon, call DM for drop number, and he says to take it to Boulder. I mention my hours, he says repower later, get it rolling. Ask for new optistop since current is Dallas yard, and you don't go to Dallas yard and just fuel and leave. DM says head north and call from near Witchita Falls and he will be able to get one then. Get to T/A and have QC message from safety to call. Somebody says I cut them off at I45 exit on I35. Then he says I should come to yard, that my DM messed up telling me to head to Boulder. Now a severe tstorm is moving thru so I have to wait for it to move out of my path back to Dallas. So after wasting a couple hundred miles and several hours, I'm sitting on the yard for at least two days. If I had just come to yard instead of the stupid aborted run, this lady wouldn't have had me to vent about supossedly cutting her off. Ah well. Anyone else at the yard? Well, keep the shiny side up!

It's just the wisdom of things. I think it's something in Dallas' water.
Same type of screw ups on this load I have. Barely made delivery saturday, and to the TS in Syracuse with three minutes left on my 14.
Get assignment to pick up in Rochester two hours ago. Inform dispatch I have no time left and only 6.5 hours sunday. The load is due in GA 0800 monday.
    Take it anyway.
Long story short? It's now 0200 tuesday, and I'm starting to roll for that 0800 delivery. I have 10 hours today and 1.5 tomorrow.
I have a preplan to pick up 2100 tonight in TN and deliver to Houston 2100 thursday.
And again I'm promised a repower.
I'll believe that when THAT load is late too!
Oh well... the miles are good.

Yep total lack of communications on the yard...if I have a QC message telling me to bring it to the yard, I bring it to the yard...let them figure out who screwed up later.

Now instead of cluster repowers, we are all dealing with too much time, then late loads that we can not make....ummmmm wonders what is happening at Dallas...obviously, no thinking.

Deliver today to WalMart Cheyenne this load that was due on sunday, the day I picked it up. Then I am going home. CSR did get the appointment rescheduled to today, so all may go smoothly.

    pre-plans what are those???

Have fun with that kodak load, if they have room for the product at the reciever, you will be unloaded quick, otherwise it may be wednesday before they unload you.

If the driver is sending in the message 8, then it is not your fault the load is late, so don't sweet it. The only thing then is dealing with the reciever being upset at you for the late load, and I always tell them talk to someone with some authority, I just drive the truck, I don't dispatch.

Hey Cards fan, I wish you much success, I gave up a girlfriend who didn't want me in the business of trucking. I have researched and monitored the site and other blogs and I can say that truckinig is like many other professions with its ups and downs.

Do what you love and you will never work a day in you life.

    Thanks Marty007,
Being in Illinois I will have to start from scratch again and company schools are not an option here because the state does not recognize CDLs from other states. Your testing has to be done here in Illinois. However we do have a Community College here in town that from what I hear has a pretty good training program for $4999. So that will be the way I go.

well, Kodak went well. drop the trailer, take the empty. they were happy.
Off to Murfreesburo to p/u another load. Can't make that one either. No hours.
Wanna bet Walmart in Cleburne, TX will be my next stop...two days late?
On the bright side, I managed to snag a good spot at the Loves.
It will be strange to sleep in until normal hours. I've been starting my day at 0000 for so long now,I'm not sure if I'll be able to adjust.
Maybe I should do my short shift tomorrow early and feel right at home. Let's see...start 0000. End at 0600.
    Naw....think I'll sleep in...to say...0400.

Very funny emuslified....sure glad you can do the night shift, I have tried does not work for me. Now let me start at 0400 and I am happy.

Was told today an interesting development from another driver...Sam pulled him off a Whole Foods load as whole foods is now insisting that only teams be assigned to their loads. If true, I wonder why Stevens would allow Whole foods to dictate their business that way.

I am home for some much needed R&R. Then I will see how my new DM and I get along.

Still have student. Had to come back for safety talk and some truck work.

Btw. Hawkish was invented by the iPhone. My shirt is hawaiian, black, brown and white.

    Not hawkish. :).
