Full lockers means not only can you engage both axles but turn the axles into full posi trac. Another words not only will both axles turn but both sides will turn, unlike a conventional axel where the tire with less grip will just sit and spin.

Detroit powered Columbia's make us all a real good living, even cranked out
they still get the mileage. My cost per truck per mile is 28-$.31
So running $.85-.92 dead head miles we still make "PROFIT".
The KW's mentioned are "PACAR" and that means expensive.
The fleet KW's are generic Peterbuilts, fetching the same profits for the stealership
sales and repair.
With the Cascadia's looking ever so butt ugly,I'm not sure what I'll get the next go round?? Most likely snag another 6 of the later model Columbia's and give it hell.Pumpkin Oval Head Thanks this. -
Which, by your own figures, places your personal average at 6.34, just under the (generous) 6.75 to 7 I gave it. My figures are from averages known by industry wisdom. I listen to what the guys here and on the road say as to what their trucks are getting.
As to the parsed quote earlier in the thread by BlackW900: You have an exceptionally well-maintained and good running truck which you know how to run, you know its quirks and you know just when to baby it or hammer it. Put someone else in your truck (I know you never would, but...) and see what the difference would be in fuel economy. For someone just starting out who does not have your experience, the results would be different than yours.
I stand by my statements and figures. -
Mine's a 2000 and the dash is probably very similar to the one you had and it's "all chromed out" as you say.
It's just a sturdier design and a lot tougher than the later ones are and it's much easier to service yourself.
The newer KW dashes are sort'a dull and car like and just look too generic for my taste.
The Peterbilts are worse...They look like a stripped down Toyota pickup to me. -
