I'm all for that more work for CA based drivers, just drop it there at the border. And I though you out of staters were all about smoker's rights. I idle my truck all the time and never get questioned, I got pulled over a couple of weeks ago and got a written warning for rolling a stop sign. Did not turn off my engine and chp made no mention of it.

Why should the people in a small town have to put up with 5 acres of trucks idling. If the temp is comfortable shut off. If its hot or cold I can see running, but the temp in Ripon is fairly nice year around.

I live in Tehachapi, CA Love's just built a truckstop here, I for was not happy about bring this into our valley. We (the residence) fought Love's coming in to start with. Part of the consessions was that Love's has to allow CHP, Sherrif, AQMD free and open access to the lot to ensure complaince of the no-idle laws . The business force there way into city that do not want them, easy answer is don't patronize them if you don't care for there policies. I have an account with Love's But I don't want to hear trucks idling at night either.

when you get the ticket for idiling you dont see a judge or anyone you can try to fight it by writing a letter to the board but you never get to have anyone hear your side of the story. my husbands fine was 300 dollars for 8 minutes and he was doing an inspection and sliding the tandems and doing his log so he could leave at the time of ticket. he has an apu but was also told that wasn't legal in california. what happened to our rights, we do still live in the usa dont we

8 minutes is not illegal. he had to be at idle for more than 15. If his truck takes 15 minutes to build up air he has more problems than the ticket.

What about all these trucks with the California idle sticker on them? They legal to idle?

    NY is no idle too.

What I can't stanis some jerk idling in 70* weather. Heat coming of their engine is unbelievable if it is blowing towards your truck.

only reason I idle at t/s is due to no breeze and the stupid amount of heat coming off the trucks beside me. I walk to the car side of the parking lot and the temp drops 30-40* or at least feels like it compared to in the isles between the trucks.
