I have my diplomas now in hand! It was a long and hard 10 weeks. My total cost of all training $0!. All expenses courtesy the Federal government and Job service!. (It was a price I could well afford)
my diploma has a PTDI seal on it. I don't know if it helps finding a job or not, But its a shiny seal anyway.Last edited: Jul 1, 2010

Well, the job hunt begins! I hope to get hired on with a starter company soon. I guess I can live with 20 cents a mile to get the experience I need to be a safe and effective driver. I will update when and if someone hires me.

I am getting a call from a Schneider representative today to do a application review. If all works out I guess they will set me up with a time to go to their training facility. I hope it goes well!. I dont know what they want to chat about but I will find out soon.

Well, the time has arrived! I just got my notice that I am to report to Schneider headquarters in Green Bay to start company training. I have been trying for days to get them to commit. I don't know but I suspect that when I mentioned the fact that for the last 4 days my phone has been ringing off the hook by recruiters from other trucking companies trying to sign me up. I have received 9 offers for driving jobs this week. When I told the Schneider recruiter I suddenly got a date to show up! (imagine that). Anyway my wife and I are spending 2 days at a great spa in the Wisconsin Dells and I shall drive to Green Bay tomorrow night. I will let you all know how it works out

That is a school for ya ! I never heard of a school that has that type of set up hear in baltimore,md its only two big trucking schools and u only pull 53' trailers in a sleeper through the city. But man with all that training you have already I would definately let companies know about it , you would be considered more valuable.
