Almost a grand. But I'm sure the compliance review the carrier will get after the complaint might be more costly.

Sure does. He's the one driver without a CDL in the front seat. I do believe, when I got my CDL, and I'm sure it's the same today that you are instructed you can only drive with a person that holds the proper class license for the vehicle you are driving. Do I blame the company? Yes I do, They are not doing their job at all. A nice visit from the feds shall make for a good time for the owner.

Hey DB, got a question for you. I was given a Level 3 in Dunsmuir,CA a couple weeks ago, and was told something that I just can't understand. The DOT officer said that if he had found anything wrong with my logbook during the inspection, as long as it happened prior to my last 10 hour break, he couldn't cite me for it. He could note it on the inspection report, but he couldn't cite me.
Is this correct, or am I misunderstanding something? If you can't cite me for it, then why do I need to carry 8 days logs with me? Heck, why even have HOS rules at all?:dontknow:

You can get a ticket for any screwed up log you give them. Even if 2 week older because you carry them for Canada. If US looks and sees an error, money will be the end result.

That's what I always thought, but I've been told the same thing in CO and TX as well. I'm not about to go out and test the theory, mind you....lol

Friend of mine calls me yesterday and tells me about a CR England driver he just passed. Seems the driver was running up the shoulder with a busted airline dragging both tandems with wheels completely locked up, smoke rolling out from under the trailer so bad it covered both lanes and he had.....................................You guessed it Placards, for flammable liquids! :biggrin_25513: A quick call to 911 and seems the state of Alabama took it quite serious. I'd hate to be in that guys shoes right now.

That's not quite the way it is unless it's a California thing.
