Almost a grand. But I'm sure the compliance review the carrier will get after the complaint might be more costly.
Just some of the stupid things I see

Hey DB, got a question for you. I was given a Level 3 in Dunsmuir,CA a couple weeks ago, and was told something that I just can't understand. The DOT officer said that if he had found anything wrong with my logbook during the inspection, as long as it happened prior to my last 10 hour break, he couldn't cite me for it. He could note it on the inspection report, but he couldn't cite me.
Is this correct, or am I misunderstanding something? If you can't cite me for it, then why do I need to carry 8 days logs with me? Heck, why even have HOS rules at all? -
Unless its a CA thing, hes wrong.
You can get a ticket for any screw up in the last 7 days.
Far as I know.ssbowles, outerspacehillbilly and dieselbear Thank this. -

Friend of mine calls me yesterday and tells me about a CR England driver he just passed. Seems the driver was running up the shoulder with a busted airline dragging both tandems with wheels completely locked up, smoke rolling out from under the trailer so bad it covered both lanes and he had.....................................You guessed it Placards, for flammable liquids!
A quick call to 911 and seems the state of Alabama took it quite serious. I'd hate to be in that guys shoes right now.

That's not quite the way it is unless it's a California thing.
