Question about divisions

I'm from Illinois and am totally OTR. The majority of my runs are from a line from Dallas to Denver and East. But I've been to all of the continental 48 states in my time with Prime (18 months). I've heard some people saying we technically have a midwest regional fleet, but this could just be rumor. I've never been asked to go into any kind of regional position, and would probably turn it down anyway.

I don't think they are hiring new drivers for the tanker division. You can switch after you get some experience, but will need to go out with a tanker trainer before you can go solo on that end.

 

We have a western regional division on the reefer side that is dispatched out of Salt Lake City - just the 10 western states, but I've seen those folks on the east coast too upon occasion. There is also a regional deal out of Lewiston ME, but that is very much a local gig.

If you really, really, want to do something close to home, you need to talk to the recruiters. We do quite a bit of buisness in and around Springfield - I couldn't say whether they'd be able to let you do something regional out of there. However, that was the jist of what they were trying to do last year with the introduction of the lighter-weight trucks.

Hey thanks a lot, much appreciated. I've really been slacking on that. Haven't put out a new one for a few months now. I gotta get back into it. I've recently begun focusing my attention on a certain other type of media. Don't want to give out much more info than that on a public forum as I try to keep the Prime name out of it (and out of my blogs for that matter), but if you're slick, you'll find it.
