I'm a former truck driver who got my CDL a little over two years ago and I was thinking about going to go to work for CR England but after reading a lot of negative posts about the company, viewing their website and catching on to the fact that they push the lease operator program, and after the recruiter told me that I would have to pay $500 to take a refresher course, when it cost almost $6,000 alone to go to truck driving school, I decided to not to go to work for them. I went to work for Werner instead. I drove for Werner from April of '08 untill July of '08. I had a bad experience with them but that's a whole different topic. I've been thinking about going back over the road but I'm not going to pay $500 dollars to take a refresher course with CR England. I can understand why they want me to take it, being that it's been two years since I've driven a tractor trailer, but I don't think that I should have to pay to take a course through them. When the recruiter told me this I thought to myself "Scam!" Well, I didn't fall for it. The other problem that I have with CR England is that they push people, new drivers who have just earned their CDLs and are fresh out of school to lease a truck. This is wrong! The only reason they push this program is to make more money buy shifting the costs, i.e fuel, truck payments, insurance, maintenance, and other expenses from them to you, the driver. With the price of diesel fuel these days, I wouldn't even consider being an owner/operator, much less a leash operator. And if your truck breaks down, you don't make a dime. In fact you lose money and at the same time your spending money to get the truck fixed. Also, correct me if I'm wrong but if they fire you or you quit or fail as a lease operator, you still owe them money for the truck! I would steer clear of any company that does these things because the lease program does not benefit you, it benefits the company. Plain and Simple! If you are looking for a truck driving job and you have just completed a truck driver training program and have recently obtained your CDL, I would highly recommend going to a company other than CR England that is willing to take "newbies". While companies, such as Werner, Swift, and Schneider may not be all that great, they do not try to talk drivers into leasing a truck for their own benefit. Hope this is good advice for anybody looking for a trucking job.

Anybody I can save from their clutches I will.
I can't stand cheating, bullying and injustice and CRE has it all.
It is ironic that I worked there with barely a scratch but I believe what is right is what is right. If we can't save everybody let us at least continue to steer people clear of this bunch of charlatans. -
I been thinking about going through cr englands cdl training, just for the fact that if you pay cash it is only 2000 dollars, and iit is 15 mins from house...what would you think if i did this and worked for them for like 6 months (as a company driver)...you know if they get decent miles? Because i would only be making 12 cpm (beause they only have team openings, unless you lease of course)...would this be a bad route to go you think? any input to why its good or bad would be greatly appreciated. Really confused what route i want to go to get into trucking.
