You might have had a leg to stand on if you didnt falsify your own logs. Saying that he made me do it dosnt fly. Besides, most companies have a 30,60,90 day probationary period for that very reason.
-
Truckin' ain't for everybody.....
-
No reason? Sounds like they gave you several.
-
I didnt list everything........and you guys are not seeing it how i fired for no reason.....i did not speed threw a contruction zone and i did all my work times 10........
-
1) Falsification of logs. You did it, it's your responsibility.
2) It's subjective but generally what the trainer says is taken by the company to be true.
3) 65mph is speeding through most construction zones.
That was probably not the best approach to the situation.
3 words for you. - at will employment.
Remember the guy who fired you? He was in charge. you already talked to him.
What answers did you want? You already knew why you were fired.
Seems as though you participated in the illegal logging and you were the one in the top bunk, also illegal. - just say no.
This is really absurd. Why on earth would you think that you have a claim against a company where you worked for less than two weeks?
Discrimination and distress? How in the heck did they discriminate against you? How were you distressed in less than two weeks? Loss of wages? did they not pay you? You were a trainee for heaven's sake that's a probationary employee you didn't even have a long term job yet how do you justify a loss of wages complaint?
"endanger of a moving vehicle"? I don't even know what that might be.
Look, go home and get a job and write this off to experience -jeez

I know it's an old post but You can't lie on your logs then expect to sue someone for wrongful termination!!
It was for the best for you any way. You were with a bad company and horrid trainer if you cheated on your logs during training. He didn't train you, he used you for the extra money he got running the truck as a team and didn't care if you got a job or not. Honestly he didn't want you to work there because it meant he got to "train" another fool for the truck you was going to drive.
When I started out my trainer didn't Team. He was in the buddy seat every mile I drove for the first two weeks. He logged on duty not driving when I drove. He was paid for the miles I drove, extra $350 per week, and a $1000 if I finished and stayed with the company for 6 months with no accidents. He put me through the ringer EVERYTHING by the book. My Inspections would give the DOT a hard on. In the third week he would drive 4-5 hours after I did my 10 hours. In the final week he was allowed to team but only if I was making progress. He didn't get to choose it either, I had to test with another person before he could team the last week. Trainer made 75-90 K a year and he was a TRAINER!!!! At the end of training i got tested by the company and they wouldn't keep trainers whose people couldn't pass a hard road test, written test, and didn't stay for six months. -
I had a similar experience. The trainer smoked and I don't. We were doing day trips and were never in the cab of the truck for more than an hour. I asked him not to smoke while I was in the truck. He complied for a short time but then would always light up again.
Not only is it illegal to smoke in the truck, it is poor manners. As I started to create friction about the smoking, he sabotaged me and lost my job. It was less than 90 days and technically they did not need a reason.
Live and learn and move on. -
Most companies I seen have the courtesy to pair smokers with smokers and nonsmokers with nonsmokers. It's to their disadvantage to let a conflict arise.
-
How is it illegal to smoke in a trk?
My trk. I will smoke, you ride in my trk. I will do my best to wait, but when I want to smoke I will.
If your trk. no I will not smoke in it, because it is your trk...walleye Thanks this.
