One of our drivers did a load for Ch Robinson. After the unloading the lumper fee was $100. Our driver told the receiver that CH Robinson has an account. This is when we were informed that they have not paid their lumper fees for over 4 months. What a headache this was for us.
How can a company that rips of so much on our loads who made over $300 million in profits not have any money?
CH Robinson has not paid lumper fees for over 4 months

I have been hauling CHR lumper loads for years, never had a problem. Seriously doubt they are trying to scam you.
Best way to handle it-
Once you know how much the lumper fee is, call the agent and have a revised rate conf faxed to you IMMEDIATELY.cherokee96red Thanks this. -

Never had an issue with CH Robinson. They have paid on time. Yeah, some of the rates are below par but negotiation is never out of the question. It's knowing what the bottom line is that you need rate wise to do that particular load and if that rate doesn't meet or exceed that figure, you say no thanks. Knowledge is power.

Our company uses CHR on occasion to reposition us for a long haul. Though their customers/runs are less than desireable, I never had a problem with them. I never heard of them having lumper accounts either. It's either prepaid or billed back through the carrier.

CHR was the cheapest brokers back in the early 80's and seems like they still are. I remember one trip with them, impossible transport time but was told to try any way and let them know when I got closer to the customer. Which I did and was 4 hours late and they took 10% of the trip money for being late. Never used them again. So be very careful using CHR.

I have hauled a few CHR loads that paid good. I just don't understand the OP hauling the freight then complaining about "rips off so much on our loads" The price is the price, haul it or not.
-
They do rip you off, as do most brokers. If you wont haul it for that, someone will. Always. -
You and you only made the decision to haul the load for the quoted price. So the rip off is?
Injun Thanks this. -
It ever occur to you the lumper was the ripoff and not CHR? Get you to pay knowing they will bill CHR as well....double-dip. Seen it happen before.
cherokee96red and Working Class Patriot Thank this.
