Country, In some cases they do. If you are convicted of a violent crime, or are on Prohbation or Parole. You cannot qualify for a passport for the duration of you prohbation or parole. With violent crimes, I think the time is 8 years after release. That is the time frame. My brother in law, shot and killed a guy. Got a year and half for involuntary man slaughter. We were going to take a trip to Mexico when he got out. Couldn't, he could not leave the country for 8 years when he got out. We got a lawyer to expunge his record after 3 years, and then he applied for his passport and we went. As far as these companies are concerned if you have any kind of little infraction or some BS on you driving history. Not criminal, just driving. They act like you committed murder. I went and talked to some local O/O yesterday. I got one who is firing one of his drivers, and is waiting until this weekend to do it. Once I am approved for his insurance, dudes job is mine. He is crying because he is not making enough money. He pays him about 700-900 a week depending on the amount of loads. Well if he was crying because of that, hate to be him next week. Careful what you wine about, just be glad your working and not like me. Waiting on your unemployment to run out before you are homeless. I will find something, even if it is towing, I will use this license. Or just really get fed up, sell my car and house, and by my own truck.

it does if those sunglasses were oakleys and the amount of $ retail was over ( i think it was like 750.00 )

The other felony was driving with a stolen fish finder my friend stole. I knew it was stolen and should have said no but I dident. He was 17 and I was 18 so I got in trouble and he had his mom called to pick him up.

I really should go and try to get the police reports to bring along to interviews because I'm sure any employer will want to know. Regardless it was awhile back and I've nothing since then thus I feel there is a good trucking job out there willing to give me a chance.

I know I did not just spend 4k of your tax payer money on trucking school to NOT find a trucking job...

My ex girfriends ex husband got laid off two years ago and he got free traiining because of the economy and went to a truck driving school and lo and behold he never could pass the driving test and gave up. now he is on the brink of homelessness and has went through all of his 401k money buying junk and toys because he has a sickness.
There are people way off worse than you or I. Now if you had one year experience you could work for martin interprizes in Charlotte but I would recommend you go to Carolina cargo if they give you a shot. You will make more money there than you think.Martin Interprizes will run you on a schedule with no time to even stop and sit down and eat. you have to eat while driving I am told and your told in orientation that you have to produce 650miles in a ten hr period and you really don't need 8 hrs of rest. You don't have these issues with Carolina Cargo.
I feel like that union money has spoiled you to the real world of working here in the the south. It would have spoiled me

It did not spoil me. It showed me how a company is supposed to treat its workers. When I punched in at work I was paid for the time I was there. Trucking companies should have to do the same. If I am dispatched with a load, then I am on the clock. If I am dead heading in their truck, then I am on the clock. If I am stopped outside of a warehouse, delivering there load I am on the clock and should be paid for it as long as I am on time. If I am away from my family. That means per diem. If I am doing my job, and doing it well. I should be paid for it. I should not have to make sacrifices in my pay. To fatten the pockets of a company exec that has never driven a truck a day in his life. When the truckers in this country. Stand up and say enough is enough. Say in one voice, this is going to stop, or else. Then if demands are not met, freight does not run. Very simple. It just has to be done together. One or two do not hold out, then it will not happen. That is what a union has taught me. As long as you stick together, then they have to do what you say, as long as it is within reason. I am not talking about stupid crap. I am talking about a man getting paid for what he does. I have a wife and a home, and when I am away at work, then I should be paid for that sacrifice. That is all I am talking about. I made 24.04 an hour plus full health and dental. I also had 2.50 an hour put into a retirement fund. The only reason why I have decided to drive a truck, is because I want my own company. That is it, when I do get it I will not forget where I came from and how hard it was to get there. Some companies forget and others do not care all they see is the all mighty dollar, and that is sad. Anyways got a job today. It is not what I want to do, but I got one anyways. I am working driving for a small O/O out of Fort Mill SC. Not Carolina Cargo. Getting 27% of the loads, plus 22 cpm when dead heading. So I cannot complain. Good money for a student driver. Good luck to one and all, and do not give up, do the research and weigh your options. Something will come, keep your faith in God. He has brought you this far. He will not fail you now.

No, I went and saw the types of trucks the guy had and the one I would be driving is a 99 Pete with 1,000,000 plus on it. So, being that they are not newer equipment and not in that great of shape. I turned it down. Besides the money was not right. I have talked to a man out of Kentucky. Actually did a road test today after church. Did fine, and he offered me a job, I am going to get an application tomorrow, and fax it back. I have an hourly job, running a big Industrial Vacuum Straight truck. It is not what I want to do, but it is 15 an hour to start. All I would have to do, is drive the truck, help set up the hoses and run the crew of four that do the work. I would only be driving about 30% of the time. The rest is supervising. I have been a foreman on a construction crew for years, and honestly it does not seem like a bad gig. The other job, that I was talking about is Tractor-Trailer, running reefer trucks up and down the east coast. Eventually I just want a day cab local job. If I have to do the Vac truck thing until then, then so be it. It is 40,000 lb tank truck and that is empty. When loaded it is between 80,000 plus. It is considered a heavy truck. Don't need a tankers endorsement, because I will never be loaded on the highway. It does not have baffles, so that is out of the question. I just wont risk it, too top heavy. I will let ya'll know how it goes.
