So what happens when you step outta the truck does a rainbow shine outta ya butt???????:biggrin_2559:

I like the way the long nose trucks look. If I was offered one as a company truck I would take it with no problem.
Would I buy one...........hmmmm..... the price would have to be cheap enough to make up for the fuel use. I would pay a slight premium for the hood, if it got the same mileage. Because I do like to look good.
But I like making money more lol.
The good thing is that most company's that use long nose trucks as company trucks also pay well. With one large flatbed exception.
The smaller fleets that buy them do it because the drivers like them. And if a company is willing to pay a premium for a truck because the drivers like how it looks, I see that as a plus for the company.

If JJ and Jess like Pete's though, I am glad to see that they got another. Likeing what you drive goes a long way toward likeing your work.

I could chosen to talk trash or bash you for the comment but i will choose not to lower myself to your level, however i will tell you this.

I have since i was a little kid have been associated in one way shape or form with trucking since i was a little kid. My dad drove a truck, his dad drove a truck, my brother drives a truck and even my sister has spent time behind the wheel. In certain periods of my military career i have been behind the wheel of various types of trucks.

When i started my commercial career it was with and old school Driver as and instructor so i got somewhat of an old school mentality when it come to driving and trucking traditions that have died off some what since deregulation.

First and foremost i take pride in my on time service but you wouldn't know that about me because you don't know me. Second is the fact that i fell in love with the peterbilt brand ever since i first drove a 378 for SMX my trainer had a double bunk 379 and i liked that truck alot but when i got seated they gave me a 378 luck of the draw i guess. I have driven just about every brand of truck out there with a few exceptions. I had a pete 387 as a lease op for central not a bad truck but i like the classic look of the hood, old school look i guess, just as in my same tastes for muscle cars over modern ones. With my trainer paul we even avg 7 mpg in a W9 which is a hood and less aerodynamic so it is also in how you drive them. I am happy that i am in a place that enjoy my equipment and the company i work for can you say the same thing? Yes when i finally buy my own it will be a 379/389 Pete because it has a good resale value and with the flex ride it drives like an 18 wheeled caddy.

I am sure that there is something that is your favorite and your not about to get me to bash you over it. I love what i do, the question is do you love what you do? Take care and drive safe fellow driver and who knows we just might meet and have a cup of coffee together. JJRanch.

Am feeling your pain CD about the long waits. Guess my company thought I got to many miles last week and even tho my reset ended at 1730, I don't pick up till tomorrow at 1330, have 566 miles to do and don't deliever till 2030 the next day. Not very happy bout that.
Do hope your company follows thru and gives you the miles.
Hey JJ, will put my KW up against your pete any day. Oh wait, I'm not really that fond of the lack of space in this trk. :biggrin_25523: I know, need a company with studio sleeprs. lol
