What no one is saying is this.
My husband works for Conway. Driving has been his long time dream.
Today it reached the point that I realized I don't even know my husband anymore.
He has been emotionally and physically spent for a long time now. Time at home, he isn't even really here due to exhaustion and stress.
My husband lives and breaths for this company now, he gives over 110 percent he always has.
I am not a young wife that just simply misses her husband with a busy household full of young children. Instead I have been around alot longer and realize a bad situation when I see it.
Simply said, as a supportive wife I am spent also. I have chosen not to share a page full of bad things about the company, just read this for what its worth. As my last phone call with my husband tonight, I made the decision to let him go to save myself and our son.
This is exactly what no one is saying.

    KittyKat501 and Everett Thank this.

don't let him go stay strong with him things will get better (hometime etc..) all drivers did to know that there's someone home that has their back. that makes driving seem worth while :biggrin_25515:

In my 35 years of trucking CFI/Conway Truckload was the worst of them all. They foster a snitch, backstabbing, brown nosing attitude within their driving force and they could care less about your family and if you see them unless you are one of "their" guys.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply to my post.
I spent the day just processing all this, hmeondaroad you sent a big message. Big Rigger, you let me know that the insanity really exists.
I wish there was a way to ask questions, but as a new member, I don't have enough posts to talk privately.

If your husband is intentionally staying away then that is one thing, but this job(trucking) really wears on you. He needs all the support he can get. There are more local jobs or if he works for conway freight there are easier jobs that don't demand so much of your time and energy. Maybe there is reason or necessity to stay working where he is at, but a miserable situation is never permanent unless you just want it to be that way. Theres always a way to have a balance of work and homelife while still working to pay bills. I would rather live like I'm on welfare than be gone for weeks at a time.

At conway if you are not one of the office good buddies you will never come close to home.I lived in Joplin,MO.their headquarters and couldn't get home and they will let you sit for a week at a time.

    Dear Car
I am a woman who performed the CA, OR, WA, produce run. I, at the time, along with my husband, had a boy and a girl. There came a point, where I had to get "off the road" and show our children stability. I did. Sacrifice, yes!! Do I regret any decision I have had to make. NO! Do my children, actually in their late 20's, appreciate us??!! YES!!!

Does it really get better? Or is that just the pipe dream?

How has your family life been affected?

How do you keep it together?
