Someone piss in your wheaties Emerson?
Just because you can't manage to make an opportunity to make some money work doesn't mean that other folks with a bit more ability are going to have problems.
Works for Sazook, DirtySideDown, Nick352, Steve n' Lo, Dr. Zebra, me... on the company side it's been working for U2, me, Emton, and a lot of others.
No one nailed your feet to the floor and put a gun to your head...
First, who's "cheerleading?" Not me. I've posted both good and not-so-good about Prime - and I've also many times written that leasing from Prime is not for everyone. Especially someone with no experience at all - I post on a regular basis to new drivers that they need to run company for quite awhile before they even think about leasing. Nor is Prime as bad as what I see written about it - including your c.r.a.p. They give you an opportunity, and its up to YOU to make it work. They don't spoon-feed you, and it's not a social-welfare organization. If you can't man up to the challenge... go work for Weener, or CRE. They'll take any whining little crybaby driver - because that's the only kind they can get.
Yeah, I've posted a lot about Prime being a good deal - and it has been for me. Why shouldn't I? There's nothing on the splash page of this website that says it's just for little whiners who can only badmouth a company. I also went into this with my eyes open, and didn't jump into the deep end not even knowing how to swim. "0 - 1" I think says quite a bit here. OTOH, if you pay attention to what others with lots of experience write (thanks and a tip o' the hat to Rollover, Southern Pride and many others - including even notarps,) be observant, figure out what works on your own, then there's nothing that can't be mastered in the art of trucking. Yup, haven't been doing this all my life, but then again the war on the middle class didn't start until about ten years ago either - forcing me to change what my gig was. You roll with the punches or go live under the bridge - maybe that's where you belong. Me? I'm making trucking my gig, making money at it where I can, and getting good at it. So far that's been Prime - and why should I change that? You don't fix what's not broke, and until this gig doesn't work for me, I'm holding onto my cards.
Or maybe this is your problem... you got greedy, figured anyone with no experience could get rich quick, because, after all - aren't truck drivers just a bunch of uneducated idiots?? Well that's not the case. From your comments its obvious you didn't take the time to have the lease contract explained to you - because you don't understand it. Your interpretation of the per-mile guarantee, lack of knowledge about what is included in the tractor payment for example, shows you don't have a clue. Huge mistake, and no wonder you can't make it work - and have bad feelings about the whole deal. Did you just figure all you have to do is jam gears and mash the throttle to be a millionaire? Look in the mirror, and you'll see most of the cause of your problems.
BTW... thanks for your concern about my financial well-being. I'm doing just fine. Making more money than I did on the company side too.
Prime, never been insulted by employer before.

there you go again... Insulting two companies you've never even worked for there for not being in any position to insult them or talk about their employees. Believe it or not I hear way more happy stories from CRE and WERNER than I do with Prime. Will I work for them? No, so keep the smart *** comments to your self. Once again you've prooven why many folks should disregard what you say. Your a typical no it all hot head whos over opinionated soap box preacher.
I agree leasing it not for everyone. The point is it's not for anyone. These programs are designed for the trucking company to make large profits off of your work. The more we allow companies to get away with this the more we feed into the very problems with this industry. But I forget again your 3 years has given you more knowledge than anyone man has ever gained before and I bow down to the all knowing all might Brassmonkey... Err Ironpony -
That's all you got Emerson? Personal attacks, and the whiners line about "it's the big, bad company's fault?" Figures.
Since your opinion of "CRE and WERNER" is so high, I think you NEED TO PROVE IT TO US. I WANT you to go work not just for one of them, but both. Do it. Report back on the great time your going to have. I WANT to read all about it. -

If a driver turns in his leased truck, just exactly what happens? What charges do they throw at you?
-
I'll let you know today. I'm turning mine in

Having read these posts I'm inclined to believe what your saying. If all the doom and gloom is considered then how have they built Prime to the size it is? If the answer is keep abusing L/O's and count on replacing them with fresh bodies then by now they would have used such a huge number of drivers it makes all this sound some what unbelievable. Granted any company has issues, some never addressed and a constant source of problems, but all this is hard to beleive.

Read some of his posts from a year ago, when things were all rosey !!!!
It happens to everyone eventually......... -
The reason why people continue to come here is because of the current economic climate. People need jobs. Prime will hire just about anyone. Their recruiters talk of big dreams and money to people who are broke and have no jobs. You get into a lease and become a slave to the truck. A LOT of people loose what they have, and the truck becomes the only place to live. Talk to most Prime Lease ops and 90% will tell you they cant afford to go home or have to train in order to make a decent living. -
Then why did you do the PRIME LEASE DEAL ?
