I am hoping someone can provide me; a Newbie, information on what type of Health Coverage a driver should have, to be driving regularily in The United States. I know my Ontario Health Insurance only covers a bare minimum. i would appreciate any suggestions!

I had a Canadian driver tell me he has a supplemental policy for while he is in the U.S. that costs him $80.00 per year.

I wonder how it works the other way around? I never thought about it.
Very good question, but I don't know either.:biggrin_25513:
    Maybe ask your company?

I contacted my health insurance and they said they cover me in Canada.

However, since they deny claims in the states almost 100% of the time, then the coverage will be just as valuable as nothing.

with any half decent company -you should get a global health coverage----think mine was thru great west---the provincial coverage sucks--on a 3500 dollar bill my sk coverage covered 50 of it great west bartered it down to about 2400 with the hospital--and i got notice of paid in full--but then hospital sent the remainder to collections to try and get it out of me--funny part is--i am now covered by that hospitals insurance cause my wife works there--regardless of my rambling---most companys offer their drivers on road coverage

    Are you with SNI?

Ya know, common sense would tell me, that a Canadian driver that had medical problems while in the U.S. would be covered. What I mean is, that he could get medical services as needed, and then the medical facility would bill the Canadian Gov, or whoever administers the Ca. health plan.. But that would make sense.:biggrin_2556:

It's not like an emergency hasn't happened to a "Foreign" driver on either side of the border.:biggrin_25525:

No, I am an Leased to another company and have to get my own insurance from a greedy company. They are all the same, so there is no choice. Pay for the coverage and then the claim as well.
