Some of you might be aware that I'll soon be driving for Swift as a solo company driver. I've completed my OTR training and will begin testing out Monday at the Memphis terminal. I have a large contingent of advisors here on the forum that have helped me to succeed in this adventure (you know who you are!) and I am confident will continue to help me as I launch as a new driver.
What is so amazing to me is that I've been helped, not just by those friends that I've made on the forum, but by drivers who don't know me from Adam. That's freakin' awesome!
I am so blessed to have been a part of this board since last October. Little did I know then just how important having this body of experience literally at my fingertips could be. I'd like to take the time to thank each of you individually but there are so, so many drivers who've had a hand in my success to this point. And, not just drivers! There are a myriad of members here who no longer drive, who have never driven, who are employed in the industry or who just have an affinity for and/or devotion to the freight moving industry. Those folks too have played an integral part in my development as a driver from Day 1 and for that I am eternally grateful.
I think that I will make it my goal to help other new drivers, as I meet them on the road, to become members of this board and, thereby, easing their transition into the world of freight movement. After all, that's what it's all about.....moving stuff that folks need to a location where it's accesssible to them.
Thanks!![]()
I'm going solo soon. Glad to know that all of you will be along for the ride!

This business, I've discovered, is very difficult and can be a very pressurized way to make a living and live day to day. But, I like it! I don't alway love it but I feel comfortable here.
PJ, you know you are one of the advisors I look to for help. I might not always acknowledge that fact but I'm here to tell you, I zero in on your posts because I know that I'll learn something through them.
Thanks! -
