you mentioned broke back mountain and my grandbabies. *frowns sternly* I'm going to tell them you stole their pie and they'll be looking to take out your kneecaps.

They just might! They love "Nana's big truck" and they also love the pickup. They "check" my tires, lights and fuel cap. It's funny to watch them. All the strutting, dusting of hands and patting of vehicle. They'll also check stranger's pickups too. BOL They look at the poor man and say "you got fuel? lemme see" then march over to the fuel cap. I'm thinking of getting them little red coths to wear in their back pockets.

Don't tell him to stay out of CA. Hubby and I are supposed to be taking him out to dinner when he gets here and then we'll come back to the house for dessert and coffee. I'm not sure if it'll be apple pie or some kind of cake.

We never had trouble getting freight out of CA when we were OTR. It was the east that gave us trouble. New Jersey specifically. Oh and Tulsa. ahhhh Tulsa in the summer........yummy. :biggrin_25521:

You ran all 48?. I was central US, but tooks loads out of my area, just to keep from sitting.. My Dm always told me, that if I went out west, I was out of their area, and hand to deal with the west coast Planners for loads.. That is why I always had a hard time getting out of there.

I ain't stayin' out of California. I've never been there even though when I was in the Navy I was on the USS California. She was a new boat then (and I think, according to TruckerDave, melted down to scrap now), built at the shipyard in Newport News, VA, but I got into a nasty car wreck and ended up in and out of the hospital for about 2 years so I never "rounded the horn" with her.

And TW, what's this about dessert and coffee? Did I do something to cancel the BBQ?:biggrin_25525:

Yes we did and I miss it. Oh don't get me wrong, I LOVE this fleet and the money is good. But I became a driver to see America. I miss it a great deal. My husband however is much happier now.

Before we got on this fleet we were getting experience and then headed to the "transcon" fleet. I think OR & WA are beautiful, NYC cured me of fear of traffic, NJ taught me that yankees can be people :biggrin_2559:, Chicago is a real hoot to drive in and I love the elderly waitress at the petro there. She's 80+ and "buried" 3 husbands all drivers. She's looking for her 4th. :biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559: WY and crossing between WA & OR cured me of my fear of heights. Idaho is unlike what I expected and I think they have fake trees in their mountains. They also have aggressive elk one of whom fell in love with our truck and tried to have his way with it. :biggrin_25511: Kansas is stunning at sunset, it made me want to cry it was so beautiful. I could go on and on........I loved OTR, every day going someplace new. Meeting new people. Had the BEST time EVER on the CB in Chicago during a huge traffic jam. :biggrin_25526:

When I get ticked off at Grandad I threaten to go solo or get a new partner and go OTR. I.am.a.mean.woman.:biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559::biggrin_2559:
