So I am now pre hired with Prime and I have a start date of September 27. I am coming out of the military and have previously worked there. I am going to be taking a placement test on there simulators to see how much time I will have to spend with a trainer. I hope its no more then 20K miles which is the minimum. I will be getting on a friends truck after I am done training and we will be teaming. There is nobody on here that teams for Prime so I will be the first I guess to give you all info on it and since he is a L/O I will keep you all updated with freight pay.
Lets hope this is a good time and the money is there. I will keep you all updated as it happens.

Good for you milskired. I hope everything works out like you plan it too.
I'm making my own plans as we speak. Talked to Travis at Prime just a little while ago. Think my pre-hire is on. They are not taking hires for CDL school right now but will restart in September.
Hope I get past all the health hurdles. My eye doctor was looking at me last year and made a comment that I was almost 60 bla bla bla. I said am not, I am almost 58 thank you.
If I get past orientation I'll start my own thread.

I am a wife of a driver for Prime. If I were you, I would reconsider taking a job at Prime. I could tell you some bad experiences my husband has had with Prime. This is actually his last week with Prime. IF interested rep;y to this message and I will take the time to let you in all all the empty promises.

Just curious why your friend couldn't become a trainer and train you? Especially if you plan on teaming when the training is over.

He is coming over from CRE and is starting on mondy. They told him they want him to have atleast 90 days with the company before he could become a trainer, he will only have about 30 days with them when I start.

I know the ups and downs of Prime already. I use to work there and I learned a lot about how they operate. I do know that if you dont like to drive a lot and hate being away from home for a few weeks at a time then you dont want to run for Prime because they RUN you good. When I was with them last with my trainer we averaged over 7K miles a week over the 13 week period I was in his truck. No time off except to get an overhead done back in Springmo. Ran hard and I loved every day of it. Good money and insane miles.

Use to work there? What happened?

Got a better deal to be home more before I joined the Marine Corp.
