First ECCHO makes you sound worse not better .... 2nd A mosfet mod ? to get more power ? NA .... 99% of mods are money makers for CB shops

If your happy with your radio and just want a bit more range GET A LINEAR AMP.

YEA .... I know here is Mr legal ham guy telling you to go get a ILLEGAL amp how ever if you add what you want to your radio it is now ILLEAGL.

Get a 100-200 watt amp they cost about $100 if you decide to get a new radio later you can most likely still use the amp and you can sell the amp if you want to raise money for another radio ..... it's not likely you will get stuck with it .....

After almost 50 years on the radio and 47 years licensed 45 of them with a tech class or higher ham license I'm just giving you my opinion .....

Also Lil Wil is not the best antnna for Max range. Get a antenna 4 foot or longer.

Yea, get a wilson 1000. You'll be happier. There are mods that techs can do to radios to 'turn them up', but if you go to the wrong tech it will screw your radio up bad.

Heres the catch though, IF you went with a linear, you will have to have the radio matched to the linear. By that I mean this. Your cobra does about 4 watts dead key, MOST smaller linears take about 1.5-2 watts dead key. Youll need to have a tech adjust the dead key on the radio to match the amp so you dont overdrive it.

The problem with "MODDING" radios is many of the mods make the radio sound worse not better the other problem is there is NO standard or license to become a CB radio repairman.

Yep, that pretty much sums it up.

But like I said, either way he really needs to take it to a tech. To properly run an amp the DK needs to be matched.
