Hey manager ! You don't need a recruiting dept.! You don't need a retention manager? You can have a WAITING LIST chock full of qualified veteran drivers waiting for your call!!!
HUH? What did he say? You betcha! A list of qualified driver waiting for your call ! You can hang a "not hiring" sign on your fence! Imagine: no more idle iron against the fence!!! Rolling stock means just that, rolling!!
HOW YOU SAY? Easy!
You have to create and follow the Wal-Mart private fleet business model and that means getting rid of all the short skirts in the office and getting rid of all the middle managers. ( Sorry, not enough revenue, fuel took it )
You will have to set reasonable schedules for the drivers like 7 on 7 off or 5 / 2 .
You will have to offer reasonable health ins. to the driver at day 1 with his cost running with the U.S. avg. of $4000 yr.
You will have to pay him a professional wage, not a competitive wage and that means in the low 80's. ( for these schedules )
Yeah that means you have to move out of that new facility with the pillars, oak doors and private gym. ( Sorry )
Tough choices huh? I like the 20 year olds running around the office too but they cost money so they gotta go for as we all know, there is no money in trucks.
And there you have it. It works for them and it will work for you!

I don't give a #### if they do read it. If the truth hurts do something to improve.

I say POOP on em, I don't care if Jesus is reading my posts, Trashy says what needs saying

This is sad,
If these Co like swift, usa, etc, spent more time to make their drivers happy to be a part of the Co instead of trying to look on this forum or forums.. Then there would'nt be a problem, ie they would not be getting any Bad comments being made about them.
I know it should be a duh, no brainer to these Co employees dispatchers or whatever they call their office employeees but.
The Driver s the one who earns the revenue these Co receive, Not office people.
Seems most Co forget that FACT.

Companies don't care who drives their trucks to them we are just a body that has to be stuck in that vehicle to make it move... that's all. After being out here for last 15 years I learned that....WE ARE NOTHING!! And nobody gives a #### about your or mine hopes and dreams...it is business cold hard calculated business. They have to cut overhead and increase bottom line..that's it . And they will do whatever is necessary in the order to accomplish that.
So welcome to the club...we all are nothing but ###### and the more they are willing to pay the more we going to let them do to us... stick a camera in the truck or electronic log book or limit your speed to 55MPH..whatever they want as long they are paying..
Oh and to the fact that they read it.....Well good. Than eat me...I don't care anymore... -
WTF???? thats not nice -
Trucking has become a ripoff against the the very people it depends on, the drivers. -
the handle is "TRASHY", do the math. Everything can't be strawberry shortcake and the care bears- we are expendable components! We are the Infantry of the transportation industry and I don't give a flying flip about how I say what I have to say, I'm going to put it out there... honestly, bluntly and to the point. I'm SO sick of people who are more worried about proper etiquette when our wallets are being raped, our families vandalized and our skill, dedication and devotion to safety doesn't add up to a hill of beans to some greedy corporate schmuck! I say let all the big bosses take a flying poke at a rolling donut!
