. I'm almost extreme...
.
Sorry but to many people have no idea about recapping tires. I've dealt with the same guy for about 16 years and have only blown 2 maybe 4 caps of his. I know the one was an older tire that kept going low and I was to lazy to fix it. The other 2 or 3 were test tires I was running for him on an older trailer that you really couldn't hurt.rocknroll nik Thanks this. -

NO im not getting into one of those the first liar dont stand a chance competition with you.
what i can say is i never had any luck with 22,5's loaded legal to a little over @70-75 mph on hot pavement.
the load ratings on 22.5's virgins or caps drop pretty fast with speed, same with 24.5's but they can stand a little more speed than the 22.5's
im sure you haul 120k at 90mph 3000 miles nonstop on 130 degree pavement and your recaps last longer than any virgin tire ever manufactured -
I ate a hamburger at a gas station one time. It was awful, and the service was terrible. I'm never eating another hamburger. Anyone that eats hamburgers is an idiot.
king Q, RW., HA-MTR and 1 other person Thank this. -

Again, from my experience, running YOUR OWN virgin rubber that has been capped, in the cooler months of the year (except on the steer) eventhough that is perfectly legal as I have after all these years learned...thanks to the the individual that took his time to research that...is not only cost effective for O/O...but the environmentally correct thing to do.....WHEW!...I'll come up for air now!.....But as I've stated before, running caps is not for the average driver,...cause the average driver is just that....average. You HAVE to take care of your tires!...Even if you have an air on the go system installed, you still need to inspect them at least daily....It is a rare individual that is going to take time to do this consistently.......If I were again running my own equip. I would be doing the same thing I had done before, caps in cool weather...MY CAPS mind you.....I've had good experience with them as I took care of them....

,
but I won't run caps on my steps like was earlier said.
The only thing I run caps on is my flats, and it's not a "spread" thing
as all my trailers are spreads. -
My permit only goes to 114k and restricts speed to 55 (we do run faster65-70). If I run 3000 miles a week I'm not happy, don't want to work that hard. Temps as hey as what we've had this summer so you'll have to figure that one out.
