I had a friend who talks so much smack about how awesome her Mac was and how there are no viruses for a Mac. I was on a little vacation so I wrote a little program. I targeted only her, so no worries there, but I got her MacBook, then when she sync'd her iPhone I got that one too. It was so funny rerouting all her outgoing calls to me.

The most amusing thing I have ever seen is a Mac person with malware. One of my female customers could not stay away from the Nude Fantasy God Hunk Pics :biggrin_2555:. Her PC picked up a ton of malware. One day she dropped by:"I have a Mac, Never see you again." One week later. "Hi Mac Lady, Whats going on?" Lady:"Help Me, I have a nude guy dancing on my screen! I'm going to get my money back!" I run anti-software on my Linux system. Don't listen to the hype. No OS is 100% safe. Learn how to do computer maintenance, anti-ware, surf safe, and do backups.

Well I went with the Mac. MacBook Pro, 13 in. This thing has been super easy to set up and run. Still figuring things out and as I am not the most tech savy guy I set up the "One on One" training they offer at the Apple store. I can set up an appointment and go in and get personalized training at my leisure. I like that option.

So far I am a happy camper. I recently had my old PC Laptop gone through and cleaned of any viruses and malware or spyware by a friend who is an IT guy for Nationwide insurance. Even after all that, the PC was still slow and clunky compared to what my MAcBook is.

Biscuit, you are going to LOVE your MBP 13. I got one last year and prefer it to the larger 15" and 17" models. Don't listen to the folks that say the hardware is identical to the Windows machines. I have yet to see a display as crisp or keys that light up or a machined aluminum unibody or a Magsafe power connector ect ect. It is a chore to even turn on my 15" HP laptop. Windows had their shot at me, after Win 98 and Vista, I'm done!

False....................I have Win7, OSX and Ubuntu bootable on my current system, and find myself using Win7 the most.

I just bought a new Toshiba laptop with Windows 7....I am VERY happy with Windows 7. While I have thought many times about buying a Mac I just couldn't justify the expense for what I use a computer for. I am not putting down Mac, I just couldn't see spending that kinda money when I could spend less than half what a Mac costs and accomplish what I need to on a computer.

And that really is the only criteria one should use when selecting a computer and OS. Buy and use what you can afford and what gets the job done for you.

I think Windows 7 is a vast improvement over Microsoft's previous offerings.

I have ran Linux, and I have played with a couple of macs, but I will stick with PC. Also Win7 is the best thing they have came out with in years.
