Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

It would be awesome if they hired School Grads out of NC. I'd love to get into flat-bedding. Having had driven Van for almost 10 years way back when, this would be like a 2nd comming of salvation, LOL.
Oh Well. -

Just from my expirence, and no I don't have a lot but I have worked for smaller companies pretty much my whole career I got nothing against them some are great. But its finding the right one. The last one I worked for was a garbage company, family owned, maybe 30-40 drivers. They treated me poorly, from what I heard from other drivers they weren't happy either. What it comes down to is who you are working for, there are good and bad on both sides.

Just thought I would ask some general questions that should come up when looking into a trucking company.
Do you have a rider policy
Do you have a pet policy
Do you have Detention Pay
What is your idle policy
Do your trucks have APU's
Do your trucks have Bunk Heaters
Can you drop the trailer at at safe location and bobtail home
If you are an owner operator, can you purchase insurance through the company
Is there any pay if you are hung out over the weekend, did not get home, and do not have a load?
Do you pay deadhead miles the same as loaded
That should do it for now!
Thanks! -
Do you have a rider policy Yes, we allow riders after your probationary period
Do you have a pet policy Generally, we do not allow pets.
Do you have Detention Pay Yes, but not a guaranteed/set $ per hour figure
What is your idle policy We discourage idling and reward drivers that minimize idle time
Do your trucks have APU's No
Do your trucks have Bunk Heaters Yes
Can you drop the trailer at at safe location and bobtail home No
If you are an owner operator, can you purchase insurance through the company What type of insurance?
Is there any pay if you are hung out over the weekend, did not get home, and do not have a load? Our drivers are home every weekend. If you are not, 99.95% of the time it will have been your choice. Probably twice in 10 years I can remember a driver being out over a weekend because we could not keep him moving. We do not have additional pay for this extremely rare occurence.
Do you pay deadhead miles the same as loaded Yes...for company drivers. -

We don't get to MS very often.
We do not hire recent grads. We usually require 1 year experience.
We do not offer health insurance to independent contractors. -
Well, i finished my first week with my new company, and all i can say is, they better get there #### together.lol And another thing, this new electonic log thing is crap.lol I dont see how anyone can make any decent miles with this 14 hour stuff.
