No, they suck because they are just like 99.9% of all OTR companies out there. They pay by the mile. Unfortuately, they dont even pay the actual miles you drive. Then you get the pleasure of sitting to load/unload for free for a period of time. You also get to sit for free waiting for some dispatcher to find you a load. Being on duty for the company and not driving means no pay in your wallet for that on duty time. Miles also mean nothing if they are not there. If you are a company driver, you get to pay some huge amount of out of pocket money for health care. Hopefully, they offer medical, dental and vision. And thats on the short list.
Then you get the distinct pleasure of being away from home for weeks at a time. With that, you get the pleasure of paying for meals out of your own pocket. Lets hope that they are good meals and not the WalMart noodle bargain. Hopefully, they make enough and have enough leftover to eat properly.
As for retirement with company match, lets just hope they somehow have enough left over to put into their retirement for the company to match it.
My opinion barely scratched the surface. I didn't even mention turnover. As we all know, if a company is that good, turnover should be next to nothing. Thats just plain old common sense!

Exactly!!! Finally somebody said something smart!
If you can't handle this then leave! You don't belong in trucking!
This Guy said it truthfully without whining.
Thank God somebody with a brain can post without whining garbage. -
This coming from an office employee of Knight? Man, thats just funny there..

Yeah, the thing is that Knight bases it's raises off over 10,000 miles a month, calling that the fleet average, yet when Kevin talks to the new media, he says the fleet average is something else.
Knight is NOT a long haul company, they just now pay long haul cents per mile, while you burn your clock out on the docks. -
Great. It's exactly what the world needs right now: a stereotypical truck driver who can't read. This is called the REPORT A BAD TRUCKING COMPANY HERE thread for a reason. To do just that.
Looking forward to view some more "trucker trolls" posts in the completely wrong sections of this forum.
And for those of you who can't handle opinions both positive and negative on this site, then go away. You are not welcome.
It's never wrong for someone to post their opinions of a company here, even if it is negative. Now, I challenge you to reply to MY post and call it whining! -
074344...must be his Teamsters Union card number. -
Hey Knighton, we all think you are an office jockey trying to blow smoke up everyone's butt.
Those of us that have been around a long time know what a bottom-feeder outfit Knight Transportation is.
So whether or not you really are a driver for them, we don't really care. We all know they suck the big one, so you are the one with no credibility here. -
Knighton,
Here are more reasons why you have no credibility here:
You claim that you are doing real well at Knight, but all the naysayers are whiners, lazy, incompetent, etc.
If you are really a driver, which I don't think you are (troll), Then you would be going to all the same docks (customers) everyone else is. You would be waiting the same amounts of time to load/unload.
You would be running the same short hauls everyone else is. It is hard to believe you are getting all these nice long hauls, when nobody else is.
Why do you come on here and try to yank everyone's chain, when most of us can smell a troll a mile away?
Until you put your money where your mouth is, I'm calling you out as a troll. show us some pictures of you and your truck. Show us some settlements that back up your claims (real ones).
If you can't do that, then you are a phoney. Either put up, or shutup.Last edited: Aug 23, 2010
MaximumTexas Thanks this. -
No it is not and I don't see how it would make a difference anyway. Obviously, my post is correct or you would have an argument against it.
