JohnBoy, love reading your posts! I am getting ready to go through school and train with Stevens for a year. After that I will definitely be considering trying to get with Calex. Seeing as I live in Tampa and my entire family in PA, this company could work out perfect on both ends! Hopefully they are doing some hiring when I get done with my time at Stevens! Thanks again JohnBoy!

My pleasure. Good luck with your training at Stevens. I hear they have a good training program. Just remember, it'a all new so ask questions. And remember, put in one full year at Stevens then move on if you want.

Funny you should say that, after pulling away from the fuel island I hit the first spot I could pull thru and took a nap.

I made it to a little truckstop not far from my delivery in Hooksett NH yesterday around 5pm, found a spot and took the rest of the day off. I woke up at 5am, washed up, got a coffee to go and drove to the consignee. I had a 7am delivery time. I got checked in at the gate right at 6am and given a door. At this place you have to spot your trailer and unhook from it then park in the bobtail area. 15 minutes after spotting my trailer I was called on the CB to come into the office for my signed bills. I hooked back up to my trailer and was headed south on 93 at 6:45am. I had 355 miles to go to Mountain Top PA for my second drop and knew I could be there by 1pm, at least that's what my GPS said. I stopped off at the T/A in CT to get some money off my card and then continued on.

Gary called and said he was dispatched on a load going to Seattle and was on his way to load. He told me Louie said he was sending me to CA but didn't have any of the particulars. Louie called about an hour later and asked me if my truck needed any work. I told him the only thing it needed was an oil change and an air leak that needed to be fixed. He told me he was sending my load info to my truck, it's a load of frozen food that picks up at 11am in the morning in Hazleton with a drop in Denver for Monday and a drop in Anaheim on Wednesday. This is good, I'll get to see my brother for dinner in Denver Sunday night.

I got my last drop off at 1:45 and got to the yard around 2:30 with the hopes of getting my work done on my truck, right, nice thought, they told me to be back at 6:45 am and they would have me done by 9. So I told Louie and he said that if my truck wasn't done by 10 in the morning he would give me a loaner truck to make my pick up with so I won't be late for the 11am appt. Not exactly what I want to do so I'll be at the shop with bells on at 6:30 to make sure my work is done in a timely matter. Right now I'm at the Petro up the street from the terminal relaxing. One last thing, our new trucks started arriving today, they have the super 10 with the Volvo engine.....and super singles on the drives.

Johnboy, spoke with Mort yesterday he said he was looking for a driver to road-test me in Florida hopefully today. It sounds good that I may get to join you at Calex . I sure hope so I have a job that I have to continue until the 9th of Sept. Mort said that would be ok. Im sure as a new hire I would not get to see a new truck for a while. What do you think of the way the new trucks are equipped? 10 speed and super singles?

Hey JohnBoy how's it going, yeah I have mentioned to Mort about wanting to switch over. He said if I do it would be a good deal of the east coast down to your neck of the woods and Georgia and such. This is great with me if it happens, reading your original posts about where you ran is the main reason I came on. I have a wedding I'm in on the 10th so I'm going to wait until afterward to bring it up and try to make the change. I don't think it will be much of a problem I just figure I should wait so that I'm not telling them I want to run and then crying I need to be home, we all know guys that do that and I don't want to be "that guy". So far so good though. We still gotta meet up at some point. Take care....Al
