My truck is a one ton dually and they ask for logs when I am empty and just driving around sometimes. It does not even have signs on it and pulling my own trailer they stopped me. -
sorry roadmedic, posted same time.

My truck is set up to haul trailers. It is used as such. But some states when I have been on vacation try to nail me for a log book.
I take the truck anywhere on vacation as well and have been stopped. -

5 miles later a squad came down the ramp with lights on and got behind me and then shut them off and backed up the ramp.
When I am empty we really are not commercial. -
sorry kid...thats the way the cookie crumbles. Kinda like how i had a 45k load back in Jan. from Morris to St. Louis Park, MN. First stop i thought "gee...sure is taking a while to get stopped, and i'm using a bit more brake pedal than i'm use to". I got out and checked everything...nothing stood out at me. Went up the road a little farther, and stopped. Same thing. I send in a message saying I was headed to our terminal in Inver Grove Heights, and the shop needs to look at the truck for issues with the brake. After hours dispatch in Memphis tells me "this is a drop load, you can go to the terminal afterwards". Uh ...... what?? I told them it was my butt in the seat, and something is wrong with the brakes and it WAS GOING into the shop. I asked "what am i going to tell the officer if i happen to have a wreck? Sorry officer, but after hours driver support in memphis told me i had to deliver this load first". Sorry...that wasnt going to fly. I'm the one the buck stops at....Swift wouldn't stand up and say "yeah we told him to deliver...its our fault". The cop, state of MN or whoever i might have hit NOT come after me and say "oh..well it clearly isnt your fault...so its okay".
this is a PROFESSIONAL job. And that also means having enough baIIs to stand up for what is right and wrong.
