You'll have to take what they give you since you have a contract. Some people have problems with that and others don't. If you don't like the job after a year then you can move to a better comopany if you find one. I believe alot of us have gone through bad companies one time or another. I always looked at it as gaining experience and learning all I could. One important aspect you've got to keep in mind at all times is keeping your record clean. With that and experience you are able to pick and choose the good companies to work for. You'll also gain the knowledge of what are the better companies out there because most of the good companies do not advertise for jobs. People come to them vs. them going after people. I'm in Vineland. I have no trouble signing a contract for 1 year. If they are willing to teach, I'm willing to learn.

I know a guy who went to train at Prime... his trainer was scheduled for a vacation so he was dropped off at a truck stop while the trainer went home for a week. prime wouldn't advance the guy any $$$ since he wasn't with the truck and he wound up begging for $$$ while he was stuck there.
The sad thing is he actually went back on the truck after the trainers vacation and lasted about another month before a lack of miles cut his trucking career short... he still owed Prime for his training... don't know if he ever paid though. -

+ once you count the fact that they hardly book loads legal lmao they book loads pretty much by mph through each state vets know what im talking about.
the bad part is i still like prime if they didn't rape you on your lease and all it would be a great company to work for.back when i worked there it was all lease up until a year later when they bought out rocor.
i will add this tho if your a team the lease is great cause they will run your ### off.i ran teams for about 4 months and we were running loads out of chelsea mass market to salinas cali then pick a load up in bakersfield back to mass.lil over 7k miles a week like this.so it's not all bad but running a lease truck solo is very rough and no home time cause you can't afford to.you still owe the truck payment every week so if you built up a week home time you better have the extra money to make the payment.unless it changed but i doubt it.
so is it good to work for prime?
solo---no
teams---can be/yes
trainer----yes can be but i don't think i'd be able to trust a noob with my truck while i sleep in the back lmao.i've seen some people and say wtf really?lol -
which is why I won't lease....why didn't you just stay on the co. side?

2 this will show you if the trainer is really a trainer cause he is supposed to be getting you rdy for your own truck not use you for miles.
i'll also add while you are in training talk little listen alot, not just on the learning part but watch and listen to how the trainer works with the company and also watch and see how the company treats the trainer/driver.this will be more of a value to you than you think.it will show you what to expect and if the company will treat you right.
facts is you pretty much have 1 person "dispatch" that will make or break you.alot of them act like cops on power trips if you ever say NO they will/do hold grudges remember that. -
