Do some or all big truck stops have gyms or even a lit area where one could do some walking while on down time? That is a concern to me.

Never seen one with a gym in it. The best you can get is walking around the truckstop avoiding getting run over...:biggrin_25523:

When I went to school to learn to drive we had a "Healthier way to drive class". In that class we were told if you want to get better exercise, dont park your rig close to the restaurant. Park at the far end of the facility, you will have to walk a greater distance yet you will gain exercise. No need for the gym. There were other parts but my brain is a bit woozy from some pain meds I just took. If there is more interest in this thread I will get out my notes and post more info.

Thanks! I remember seeing a gym in one truck stop here in Kansas but I can't remember where. I was pretty nice too, so thats why I was assuming there must be more.

keep a 25 lb dumbell or two in the truck, and walk around at shippers, receivers, and truck stops. If a person wants to stay healthy they can.

I seen a guy the other day walking around with those weights on his ankles. Looked kinda goofy till I realized what they were.
