As a new student driver, if someone had told me I might see a 7000 mile week while out with my mentor I probably would have laughed. But... I am the student that teamed with onlyg8tors and I can vouch for the miles. And I will not ever put my shiney new license or new career at risk for anyone by running illegal. He will tell anyone that I keep very neat and precise logs and will happily show them to anyone to verify my half of the drive time.
My mentor stresses running hard and sticking to a 10/10 hour shift while running team as the best way to keep rolling, stay legal and ultimatly make money. That truck only stopped rolling while taking a piss break, fueling, or food usually all at the same time, hopefully getting a quick shower occasionally so we didn't stink each other out. Pre-plans were usually received and accepted before arriving at final and dispatched right after the empty call was sent minimizing wait times between trips.
I have no complaints with my mentor as he has the same work ethics as I do, professionalisim, safety, customer service, and maximizing HoS to work efficiantly and make some money. Keep the door closed and drive.
As to locations as otherhalftw asked for, those can be read on my thread http://www.thetruckersreport.com/truckingindustryforum/swift/114264-swift-newbie-starting-out.html
I would have to pull logs for exact dates and times as that thread is updated when I can, not based on a weekly set schedual.
And I did earn a steak dinner of my choice for the great week

I did NOT win a P***ing contest. I do not take part in P***ing contests. I did however perhaps win the tinkle contest.
Actually I didn't and I really don't understand all the posturing and slamming of one another.
Here's how I look at this whole thing: to those who wish to tell me I'm not pulling the miles I pull........makes no difference to me. If you're not getting the miles....to bad, talk to your DM. I know solos pulling heavy and solos pulling light. I also know teams pulling light but then I also see why that's happening to them. They turn down loads, request certain comfort zones. I know a mentor that just pulled 6000 miles with his student in 4 1/2 days and he's headed back out as soon as they finish a rolling reset. They'll pull a third 3000 mile trip and will have pulled 9000 in about 7-8 days.
To those who don't even work for Swift nor ever have......bite my DOT bar.
Now to the important stuff: an idiot parked his pickup and trailer in front of the docks. When the store manager tracked him down and made him move his pickup.....the guy cussed me out and called me fat. Okay I am fat.......but still......What a jerk.SgailDreugan, onlyg8tors, cookie278 and 5 others Thank this. -

I want to say, I'm not a driver, but I have been reading these boards for a long time. One of the things that seem to tick most drivers off, is the lack of respect they get from shippers, receivers, their dm, 4 wheelers etc.
But the lack of respect alot of you drivers (and ex drivers) have for each other is the worst. You all should know better. It is possible to disagree with respect. Many here do so with no problem. Those of you who don't, are the reason non-drivers have the lack of respect they do.

I'm not going to pretend to be someone i'm not (if i did, i'd wanna pretend to be Dorthy Hamil......no wait) by inflating my miles. Whats more funny, is that the guy thinks his "90k" miles are figured from the start of the year, when they're figured on a rolling 12 mo period....BY WEEK. All you gotta do to see that, is to check your 'metal' status on any kiosk.
a 310 truck, huh? I'll be sure to get a load from Chicago to K.C. tomorrow, so i can talk to a good friend of mine who is an expeditor/planner, and then i will know the TRUTH.....AND THE TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE !!!! -
Lord love ya cookie......you're just to nice to be around the rest of us.
*gives you a huge hug*
Does your hubby know you hang out with us bad 'uns? LOL
