When I last drove, I got online almost every day because I was almost a set route, and park n view was available at a couple places on my route, and I could also go inside and get online at the outbound receiver (perks of going to the same place every week :) )

Before that, when I was driving all 48/Canada, it was much more difficult for me to get online either because park n view wasn't available, or it wasn't working for some reason when I did find a truck stop that had it, or there were no T/A's in the area I was stopping at that had that goofy hvac setup (is this still used? air condition, cable tv, internet, local phone service)

Anyway, for those of you who are driving OTR, irregular route, how often are you able to get online?

If I go back out on the road, this is something that will be important to me as I have a couple websites that I run and will need to keep up in terms of maintenance.

    How do you get online?

My laptop is wireless capable, and I hear that there are ways to get online with wireless setups at truckstops.

Looks like I can get the card for about $50 by purchasing online after rebates. Looking to see what the additional costs will be though.

Yeah, finally found the unlimited plan that was $80/month, or it looks like $60/month if you already have a $39.99 voice plan through Cingular, which we have.

Not bad at all, really, considering I live out in the sticks where cable and DSL aren't available, so wireless at my house costs about the same.
