I would be tired out if I put in 400 miles in a day.
This local gig has made me lazy.
Most I've done in a day lately has been apx. 217 miles 1 1/2 rounds on this job.
Will hate it when it ends.

    Yep this is true.
Soon the snow will be falling and hopefully my wife and I will be home in Thailand enjoying the warm weather and listening to my friends complain about how cold it is in the states. HaHa

I was gonna ask you about the Thailand thing. You head for the Pacific when it gets cold? I didn't realize it snowed in Cairo, GA.

My mail goes to Cairo. Mom lives there and I pay all her bills to keep my U.S. living. Plus uncle Sam wants their cut.. Yea Ha.

Been living overseas now for about 10 years. Married to my wife now over 3 years, but together 6 years.
I like it over there. Family house is simple. gets away from the hustle and bussle.
I'm the only American for about 10 miles. meet up with a few gents for Fri. coffee.
They are from Sweden. U.K. Canada Denmark and one school teacher from the states

1.69 all miles traveled is pretty darn good brother (empty and loaded). And I apologized for hijacking your thread.

Just trying to place drivers with work.

If he is running 217 miles a day as he stated, would you consider that to be doing well? He is also in the heavy haul business.

You are "just trying to place drivers with work" out of the goodness of your heart? Nothing in it for you? Why not be clear about why you are posting here?

1.69/mi sure sounds good, and I am sure that is the reason you use the number. It may be great. It all depends on the number of miles that go along with it. You are a heavy haul carrier, which would lead me to believe your drivers may not get as many miles as other carriers. Heavy haul also usually means lower MPG, waiting times for permits, OOR miles, etc.

My experience on this board has been that honesty and transparency are greatly appreciated and respected by drivers.

I am posting here because I need drivers to haul my freight. I run a business just like any other.

I need drivers to haul the freight. Im not a recruiter just trying to help drivers find work and why not be with me hauling freight that I currently receive and have no one to haul.

As I have previously stated - we are a HH carrier. But over 70% of my business is legal flatbed freight.

I get absolutely nothing for bringing a driver on. I am a paid salesperson for the company. What I do need is I/C's that are willing to haul freight and make good money - or drivers with their own authority that I can broker to.

I am assuming that you are bombarded with fakers and recruiters trying to screw you out of money. I understand why you may be timid. However I have placed all of my information, including cell number on this thread as well as the other.

I need drivers, not because I get paid to bring them in, but because I sell a service that requires good drivers to deliver.

If you want to know how honest and transparent I am feel free to give me a call.

    Thanks.
