I had obtained my CDL thru a private school in the mid. Aug. and have been doing TONZZZZZZZZZZ of research and calling all the OTR outfits that were hireing in my area(not many) and finally commited to an orientation with Swift for the 20th..woohoo..gonna drive as abus trip would be 14 hrs and driving is 4..hmmm..didn't take long to make that decission..they assured me they would reimburse my fuel (some have said don't count on it) but we'll see I'm a glass is ALWAYS FULL kinda gal so I don't sweat the small stuff..my recruitor says since I'm such a new graduate all I will be doing is 2 1/2 day orientaion( what ever that consists of) and then out with a mentor (Please Lord provide me with a mentor that will be patient with my lack of knowledge and understand 3 weeks CDL school isn't enough..oh and a Non Smoker..lol) I"M SOOOOOOOOOOO EXCITED...trying to be objective is hard when your looking so foreward to a new goal..man I feel like the first day of kindergarden all ready to go but ready to pee my pants..:biggrin_25523:

Lewiston,Id..and Thank you sooooooo much for the vote of confidence..I'm leaving a occupation that I've known for 20+ yrs so it's a bit nerve rattling but this board has been a blessing to see so many others have done it so guess it's time for me to cowgirl up and enjoy learning something new and getting good at it..:biggrin_25519:

You should be proud of what you have acomplished so far. Just keep that "glass half full" attitude and you will do great. I talked to a Swift recruiter today and hopefully will be on my way to Memphis in a couple of weeks.:biggrin_25517:

I don't get this. Why do we have to get you along? Back in the States, I'd drive up, honk the horn, the gal'd come runnin'

Come a-runnin'? I'm no woman to be honked at and come a-runnin'!
