Yes Maverick would definitely be the place to go if you don't mind flat-bedding. I have a friend that drove for them for a few years before he re-enlisted in the Army and he loved it.

Ok i am driving a freightliner columbia and was wondering about the manual drain valves for the air tanks. One is labeled Wet and the other is secondary. What happens when i pull these? Should i pull these? I checked the manual and all it says is for the pretrip to pull the wet one then the secondary one and to block them open. Just wondering if i need to do this or not.

Its something I would suggest doing once a week or so. Columbias are new enough they should have automatic dump valves to take water out of the air system. Its that noise you hear when your air system is fulling charged. But it wouldnt hurt to pull the cord to dump it yourself. Hold it for about 30 seconds or until all the moisture is blown out.

    All right, here goes,
I'm in Claremore OK just north of Tulsa Town. Been lookin into truckin since I got home from the sand box in 2007. Didn't want to leave the door kickin behind but ol' hadji made it pretty hard to stay in. So there goes my dream job down the crapper and here I'm is. I been trying to find a good company to get some trainin and my cdl all in one my income doesn't allow for me to pay it myself. I got three lil ones and a mortgage. So I've got a date to start school paid for by USA truck up in Springfield MO. I've read the bad reviews about them and dang near everybody else on here. But your gonna get that with any company whatever your job is. Someones gonna gripe. I drove for uncle sam in Iraq for a year. We had 915A2 Freightliners. They were automatics but i got some decent basic knowledge in that year and a crap ton o' miles. I make enough now to suck it up at .25 cents a mile and I'm a worker so I'll stay with'm as long as they want to keep me or I get a hell of an offer from someone else. I'm gonna go into this acting like I don't know #### and act like a sponge and just get as much knowledge as possible. My lady and I want to eventually get a rig of our own with a custom sleeper and retire to the road. I like the road, love it actually. Just need some no #### info on USA truck and some solid advice for a newbie. I already know bout them pesky lot lizards, I'll just hold up a picture o' mamma and tell'm looky here honey I got a supermodel with a pornographic mindset and i left here turned on when I left. LMAO thats true as gospel too. Any help or advice would be much apreciated.

    BR,
Have you researched using your GI Bill to pay for school? I don't know what you are eligible for but with your deployment I assume you are atleast eligible for the Post 9/11 GI Bill. The only hitch is that you will have to take a course through an Institute of Higher Learning, meaning you will have to find a course offered at a community college. The benefit of this is that you will not be on the hook with the company for your schooling.

There are several variables that can make each situation different but I strongly recommend you call the VA at 1-888-GIBILL1 (442-4551). You will be much better off if you can go this route.

Additionally if you were eligible for the Montgomery GI Bill you may be able to take part in an apprenticeship program offered by several companies. Under this program the VA will actually pay you additional money each month as if you were in school. This is on addition to the pay you receive from the company you work for.

What ever you choose to do please call the VA. I hate to see a fellow Soldier not take advantage of benefits you have earned. If you have questions I will try to answer them as best I can.
